The location isn’t great but the hotel is new, very clean and quiet. Bed and sheets are comfortable. We had a car so it doesn’t bother us it’s not walking distance from the old town. I guess you also wouldn’t stay so comfortably in the old town. It’s a nice stay.

Room Tip: Hotel has parking but ask them how to get to it - not so obvious.

This hotel is a 15 to 20 minute walk into the city centre. It is a quiet location and suggest that a room at the back of the hotel is requested. We selected our balcony room before we arrived, however, we found that there was a very strong and unpleasant odour so asked for a room change. Also the balcony had a brick wall view. We suggest a room after 104.
On the last day BEFORE we had checked out cleaners started to clean the room. We had not taken all our belongings from the room and our hats were eventually found HIDDEN in the laundry basket! Not good!!!
The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and gluten free bread was available on request. Overall the rooms were very good with very comfortable beds and pillows and the air con was very efficient.
The parking is restricted so if booked in advance you may receive a discount.

Walking distance from the tube, covid secure, room was clean with ample towels/bed linen and soaps. The pool at the top was more of a dipping pool, far too small to swim in. Staff were helpful at breakfast to serve coffee and pasties, with the food being fresh.

I’m member of Hilton membership

The hotel is clean, and staff are friendly.

They don’t have a business center as written on their website

They don’t have iron to iron cloths at the hotel, I asked for a solution, they seam not to have one . The answer : “we are not allowed to have irons at the hotel “

The swimming pool was closed , towels are 3 € per day if it’s open they are not included on the room fee.

Parking is expensive

The staff at the restaurant are very friendly but impossible to leave a tip if is not on cash. ( very odd )

For the AC , you need to ask the front desk to use it.

I’m very disappointed ☹️ With the experience.

Hello good . We spent a few days last October long weekend, we are a couple with a person who travels in an electric wheelchair, we chose the hotel by telephone and they assured us that the room was completely adapted. Certainly the room itself is spacious with good mobility for the chair with double bed, large flat screen TV and even the one on the 1st floor with a small terrace,
Now the Sink has several deficiencies and some are very important:
1º Although a person in a chair can move around, the bathroom itself is small
2º The most important thing is that to enter the shower it is NOT completely flat, it has a small lip of about 3cm (they assured us it was flat????). This small height prevents normal access for an electric wheelchair since the wheels slip. You have to place towels on the floor and be very careful because when you get the urge to get closer you run the risk of colliding with the shower chair in front of you. fair (situation that my wife suffered, bruising her leg with a strong bruise)
Also note that the faucet is behind the user when he is sitting, making it very difficult to operate it and also the shower head is very far away, as is the soap holder.
Positive point in the bathroom are the amanites in individual tubes that are replenished every day.
As for the Breakfast, it is normal, something fair for the price you have when hiring it.
The location is well within a 15-minute walk from the center of Gerona with access and exits from the city nearby.
Lastly, we would like to point out that the most positive aspect we found was the attention and kindness of all the staff, both at the reception, dining room and room service. I attach photos of my wife's toilet and leg.

We were unsure what to expect from this hotel as the reviews we see in a bit with fairly mixed. In the end, we had a very good stay that could’ve been even better except for a couple of things.

To deal with those first, we were only there two days but needed to get our keys reprogrammed a few times. Not a big deal but annoying when you have to queue up at reception too get this done.

Secondly, they don’t make the most of the pool deck for sure. It is a lovely area and a great idea but not executed well. Firstly, they play the most awful music you can imagine very loudly. On both days we were there I asked for it to be turned down which happened a little bit but still not enough. The girl behind the bar seems to like it so everybody has to listen even if you are trying to work! I even phoned Reception who said they couldn’t change it but did turn it down a bit more.

Also, there is no shade. There is only six sun loungers but no umbrellas and you have to wait for around 2 pm to be able to get shade behind the pillars. Great if you want to sunbathe but not if you just want to relax.

Those things out of the way, this is a lovely hotel. The location is good – about 15 minutes walk from the train station and a nice 20 minute stroll through the park into the old town.

There is a supermarket right by as well which is useful.

The hotel is clean, modern and very comfortable. We were on a long trip involving many hotels and this has the best air-conditioning of the lot which is a big deal in the heat. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay.

We chose a room with a balcony which was a great benefit. There aren’t any good views to be had from here but it was big and had comfortable furniture and is great for relaxing in the morning in the evening.

The Wi-Fi is free for unlimited devices and excellent in all areas including the pool and balcony.

With a couple of very easy changes to make this could become an even better hotel.

The Doubletree Girona is a pretty building as you approach it from the railway station on foot, the windows are very welcoming with the colored glass panels, it's a short 5/10 walk depending on your speed.

Checkin was quick and allocated room on the 5th floor overlooking the road and retail park . Don't worry , the rooms are soundproofed and you do not hear any traffic noise at night or in the morning.

Upgraded to a suite which was nice . The rooms were just a little bare but it was lovely to have all the extra space. The bed was super comfortable, clean and perfect for a good night's sleep. There was plenty of wardrobe space too and a kettle to make tea/coffee. Everything was clean and well appointed.

The bathroom was a decent size with a long tub which was perfect to soak in after hitting Girona's streets. Lots of towels and toiletries and the lighting was good too.

Breakfast was impressive , the bacon and scrambled eggs were great, super choice of cold meats, cheeses and fruit and pastries and bread fro everyone. You won't leave hungry. It's served in a big room so there was lots of tables, the coffee machine was pretty decent too and easy to use.

Staff were super, very friendly and happy to help with any queries or directions into town. There is a bus service from outside the hotel but it only runs every 30 minutes and less in the evening so best to walk the 10/15 minutes into town and get some exercise.

There is a Mercadona supermarket opposite the hotel for anything you might have forgotten. Girona is a great city to explore and an easy trip from Barcelona on the AVE or Rodalies trains and the Doubletree a good base to locate yourself.

DoubleTree Girona

Accommodation at the hotel are as expected from the picture available from internet.
Rooms lack of good light. There are a good amount of power outlet (at least 5). There is free wifi which has a good speed if you need to check your email, or even work.
Breakfast buffet is composed of coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal, water, juice, bread, cheese, ham and sweets.

My only problem was related to the shower, which was broken and water run everywhere. Asked to fix it, but the problem continued. Beside that, I do recommend the hotel.
Between 10 and 15 minutes walking it is the center of the city where you can eat and get to know cultural places.

There are 3 supermarkets near the hotel but the recommendation is to go to other supermarket at they have low variety.

Parking is charged at the hotel (14 euros per night), you have free parking 3 minutes away from the hotel.

I cannot imagine something worse! I arrived here yesterday at 11:20 p.m. and told them that unluckily our luggages had been lost by Vueling. I asked them toothpaste and toothbrush and … amazing they had it, but they didn’t have a charger for an iPhone, a plug, a brush … they didn’t know about any place where we could find something to eat (we found a place with tapas open till 2 in Placa Indipendencia). Today I asked them where I could buy a plug they told me the direction but they were not able to print … tonight they told me they have no sparkling water … is this an hotel? Would be better to call it an hostal but one totally inadequate.

This is the worst Hilton Hotel that I've ever been and it should not be called Double Tree at all.

I am a Dimond member and at the front desk it wasn't acknowledged by the agent and no upgrade options were offered to me. The hotel was completely empty.

In the first apartment I found a stain in my duvet, it looks like a blood stain, and it means it hadn't been changed from the last guest before me. Also, I found trash on the floor (an used plastic bag with something inside). Simply disgusting!

Based on my status, I'm supposed to have bottle of water every day in my apartment, but it was available only on the first day. In the middle of the night I had to go the front desk and buy some water.

The breakfast was horrible for a Double Tree standard. The egg was dry and there was only one fruit option available (orange). A very poor breakfast.

The lady from hotel receiving the guests for breakfast should demand masks while they are serving themselves, but from my table I had to shout to guy and ask him to put his mask on while he was talking through his phone constantly around the food. And that lady from the hotel didn't say anything after that! Hello! We are in a pandemic!

Anyways, I am frustrated with the service provided in this hotel and thank you Double Tree Girona to ruin my vacation!
