Detailed Reviews
The hotel Gran Ultonia is an extremely smart, comfortable, modern hotel with staff who attend to your needs without appearing to make it a problem.
The room was spacious, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable, the shower was possibly the best I have ever experienced.
The room was immaculately clean at all times.
The breakfast was amazing, the variety on offer was really impressive and the cost, well I don't know how they can produce this for such a small cost (€7 per person).
The hotel is so close to the centre, about 500 metres to Independence square and about a kilometre from the old city.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough

This review is based on a flying visit - just the one night!
We arrived on a Sunday evening, parking in the carpark beneath the hotel (very convenient) and were welcomed at Reception by Guillermo who checked us in.
As we were so short on time we wanted a really nice place for dinner and the place Guillermo recommended was great - away from the tourist traps, amazing modern twist on tapas and overall just very cool. All within walking distance of the hotel. I think it was called Tabarro (??) and I can't recommend it enough.
Our room was fine - very clean, quiet with a decent shower. Just the ticket for one night and great value for money.
Highly recommended if you are on a budget and want to be in the thick of it.

Check in was efficient.
The first floor room had hardwood flooring and was well insulated from outside noise. The view of the back of a private residence was uninspiring.
Oh joys of joys. The bed had a top sheet. The room was generous in size, the shower excellent and roomy and the buffet breakfast had great variety.
The almost silent aircon was extremely difficult to work. On two of our four nights, neither of us could achive this.

Dear Victoria, Thank your for comment. It has been a pleasure to host you and even more to welcome you back in the future. We really feel sorry if the view did not fullfill your expectations. As a urban property, the views could not be as good as other type of property, eventhough some of the rooms has a cathedral view. As well as we will take all your comments into account in order to keep growing as hospitality company. Don't hesitate to write me back in case you need more information. Regards

This is a good hotel. The staff are great. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options and the food is good. The rooms are clean and tidy. Great location, close to the old town, square and plenty of restaurants.
I was in Girona to cycle and this hotel has a handy bike store in the basement for building and storing bikes. The walls in the basement leak water when it rains, which is weird and something the owners should probably sort. I would have given the hotel 5 stars if you were let bring your bike in the front door of the hotel instead of round the back through the car park. In fairness the staff said there was some sort of health and safety incident recently and they changed their policy, but know your market.

This hotel has a dedicated underground parking which you reserve ahead of time...this was so efficient as you can take your bags up your room via the elevator from the parking garage. The hotel was spotlessly clean, we had a big room which was well done and was just a few steps away from the outdoor terrace which we used a lot....a great spot to open some Cava and enjoy the view. It was easy walking distance to the old town and to a great square just across the road by the cinema museum.

Very friendly and personalized welcome in this beautiful hotel located very close to Independence Square and the magnificent historic center of the city of Girona.
Cozy hotel with large, very well soundproofed and very pleasant rooms. Excellent bedding. Large bathroom with XXL walk-in shower.
The breakfast buffet is complete, fresh fruit juices, cold meats, hot dishes, cheese, pastries, bread, yogurts and fresh fruit. The breakfast room is pleasant. The staff are smiling and attentive. The hotel has parking, which is welcome, because parking in Girona during the “Flower Time” festival is a real obstacle course. From the hotel everything can be done on foot. There are many restaurants nearby and in the historic center.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ultonia Hotel.

I had a two night stay in this central, modern hotel with a rooftop bar. My room was spacious and well decorated, with great climate control. The shower was fabulous and sleep quality great. The staff I met were all friendly and helpful. The location was great - only a short taxi ride from the train station and within walking distance of a variety of shops, bars and restaurants - plus within easy access of the cathedral and medieval wall walk. I loved this hotel!

We were at the Ultonia, two nights, before and after the country was shut down due to the Corona virus. There is pay fting parking underground with direct access to the hotel.
Rooms looked recently renovated, comfortable, with safety deposit box and nice bathroom with large shower, bidet and free toiletries.
Our room had a window with view of an inviting outside terrace. Would be great during warmer weather and different circumstances.
We took the buffet breakfast both mornings. It was excellent. Very complete with everything that you could desire. Eggs, cold cuts, fresh fruits, yogurts, croissants, breads, excellent coffee and tea. The staff could not have been any friendlier and accommodating.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Walking distance to all important sights.
Definitely recommended.

The Gran Ultonia is well located just outside the city centre, and was very comfortable. Breakfast is also quite good. The staff were particularly helpful with our various requests. The hotel is also bike-friendly, with a large and nicely equipped bike garage.

Rooms are large and clean, beds are comfy and it’s quiet. Location is great, Devesa park on one side and the old town across the river, both within 5 mins, Placa Independencia within 2 mins, really well located. Pet friendly too, they gave us a water bowl in the room. Great stay.

Dear Colin,
Sorry for our tardiness on the answer. The hotel has a parking space for our guests that costs 18 euros per day.
Best Regards
Yes they will look after your luggage until you can check in.
Suerte.
