It is walking distance to the train station but 20-minute walk to the Girona tourist attractions. The hotel is quite old and needs refurbishment but if you are a budget traveler I recommend this hotel.

I just got back from a 5 day trip to Girona, Spain, I stayed at hotel Europa, its a more or less a transit hotel.
Main advantage is being close to the estacio aerobusos, train and bus station, 5 minutes distance by walking.
Another advantage is that the area around the hotel is packed with little amazing shop, food and shopping depending on your interest altogether. You can find near by cosy cafes, restaurants and any other interesting patiserias, I'd recommend just down the street a "BIO letteria" delicious dairy products, the pasteis con cheso, a sort of cheese cake its amazing... ah and the mango mousse...
On the low side, the hotel is really old, if you are sensitive to noices I'd say you better lodge some place else, plenty of places to stay around!I'd suggest you skip the breakfast its 7€ and really nothing interesting to eat, well now if your in a hurry...anyway you need to announce the reception about your intention to have it served, otherwise...they don't serve it!
I had been given a map and some guidance as to what to visit! They cleaned the room everyday, but no changing sheets, just towels and general cleaning.
So, all in all the hotel purpose is to crash in a have a short stay, for me as I care more about visiting and finding my own way around there was no problem and had really no great expectation!
Keep in mind that GIrona is a such a little jewel of a city that any stay worths staying even when just for a short period of time!
Love you Girona!

When booking this hotel keep in mind that it is a 2 star hotel. The room I stayed in was small, basic but spotlessly clean and it suited my needs for three nights.

The room was on the fifth floor and accessed by a small lift. There was a faint musty smell in the room on arrival but this seemed to disappear after I opened the window and had been in there for a while. The bed was vey firm. The bathroom appeared to be new and the shower was excellent. Towels were replaced each day.

It was very noisy first thing in the morning, as although the room was at the back of the hotel it was located directly under what would seem to be the owners accommodation. I could hear the distinctive tones of the washing machine on the spin cycle.

There is free Wi-Fi available but on the fifth floor it was very intermittent and it was easier to come down to the spacious guest lounge near reception to access it.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, with some speaking better English than others. But this hotel's main attraction is it's proximity to the bus and train station! Just a five minute walk. Girona itself is a lovely town with a good feel to it and a great base to explore the surrounding region.

This hotel was state of the art in the 1960's. It retains the atmosphere and charm of that time. Yes, the rooms are small and basic, but it's good value. The location in the heart of the new town, on a lively yet quiet side street is outstanding. The train/bus station is two blocks away, the old town ten minutes or so. The owner and his staff are helpful and friendly. Our room had a small, but modern bathroom.

Hotel is well located near the train station and the city center with attentive staff who speak French. Very calm night. Small downside we can hear the neighbors passing in the hallway. Otherwise perfect for visiting Girona

Grubby from the outside, worse when you step inside! Awful smell of smoke in the rooms. They were also very basic. Balcony filthy. Checked out within 10 minutes and booked into somewhere new. This hotel is in dire need of a refurb!! Do not stay here!!

Hotel is ok for the price. Pretty close to Center. Poor wifi.
Helpful and service minded personal. Possible to park car in garage for 15EUR/day.
Clean rooms. Silent. Did not eat. No water offered in room. No mini bar, no safe in room.
Small room. Poor view.

We stayed one night in Girona to catch a flight very early in the morning. And we were absolutely surprised by the hotel an the city itself: it's really worth a visit and the Europa is a good "base". Within 5 minutes, you're in the city center and the airport shuttle (20 minutes to the airport) stops at the train station - which is right next door. Very convenient! The staff was really friendly and helpful - they recommended us a great Tapas Bar. The room itself was refurbished, nice and big bathroom, three beds, spotless clean, nice view. We paid 68 Euros for the room - good deal. Hadn't breakfast because we left early. I would definitely return!

We chose this hotel for its location, near the train and bus station and not far from the old city. Smallish room, extremely quiet, with shutter, which makes for great sleep and bathroom. The entire place needs to be updated but as is was fine for our purposes. Reception could not do enough for us and the whole atmosphere is pleasant. Would highly recommend.
