Wonderful warm welcome from hosts Liz and Tony. They were extrmely helpful, about recommending sights to see, places to eat and shop. The rooms were, quiet, and comfortable. The metro is just across the street. Will definitely visit again.

My wife took me to the Patio as a birthday surprise so I had no pre-conceived expectations of the place. Without wishing to repeat the comments made by previous reviewers I can only echo their sentiments. I think the finest endorsment I can make is that staying with Liz and Tony was like visiting old friends. Knowing that it was...

We stayed at the Patio for our honeymoon and it was the perfect place to unwind after all of the hectic wedding stuff. Our flight was badly delayed but they knew and were waiting at the airport for us when we finally got in. At that point we were pretty tired and hungry and so out came cava, ham, olives...

The Loft is a great place to stay, on what is now a very quiet road in a friendly neighbourhood. It is indeed opposite a prison, but we fancied that made it safer! The location is excellent, a short walk from Sants train station, and handy for the Metro. The space is lovely, simple and relaxing, with everything we needed,...

We stayed at the patio for 6 days in mid of may. The place is easy to find and right next to the metro station. This was very important to us, as you can get to everywhere in no time. The owners gave us great recommendations were to eat (for lunch, dinner and tapas) and were very friendly.

Perfect location. Wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. We arrived and I said I enjoyed a glass of cava, straight away I was offered a glass, my husband ripped his trousers, sewing kit appeared, forgot the sun tan cream, some appeared. The fruit cup at breakfast was lovely but we left our pineapple, the next day there was no...

Truly. But I don't see any sense in repeating all that has been said up until now. It's all TRUE! (The parts about The Patio and Tony & Liz anyway - Not as much some of the tourist info offered by a few of the guests). Instead I'll add a couple of points that haven't been touched on much, and...

You could go on for ever about all the great things regarding The Patio. There are only the two bedrooms here, but, they are cosy and have very comfortable beds, you will get a good nights sleep, as The Patio is situated in a nice quiet area just away from the main touristy area. Everything is spotlessly clean. There is...

We found The Patio on TripAdvisor and are so glad that we did! Tony picked us up and the airport and he and Elizabeth were fabulous hosts--showed us around the neighborhood, helped us with touring decisions, recommended fabulous "local" restaurants (even going with us and helping us to order one night), served a good European breakfast, were there when we...

Recently returned from a three night stay in Barcelona. The Patio was like a home away from home. Tony and Elizabeth were very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable of the city. They gave us tips on where to go, what to see and places to eat. We were never disappointed. The breakfast was great every morning. The rooftop was an excellent place...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Patio is a cosy two room B&B tucked away in the inner courtyard of a larger building in the Ensanche neighbourhood. The B&B is totally separate from the owners' home, maintaining privacy, but with a connecting door in the kitchen. The main room of the B&B has a sofa where guests can sit and relax, and a table that seats all the guests, where the breakfast is served. Guests are welcome to make themselves a coffee or tea at any time during the day. One of the highlights of the B&B is the patio just above the guest rooms, where there is a table, chairs, umbrella and plants. Perfect for a sunny break during the day or for relaxing with a glass of wine and a book in the evening........ ... more   less
