This is a charming and well-located hotel/B&B that was a lovely and comfortable place to stay for four nights. The rooms are good, the bed fantastic and breakfast very tasty. However, it was let down by one thing: a terrible shower. Either the water pressure wasn't sufficient, or it took ages to heat-up, or the switching lever wouldn't work.

As you would expect from a boutique hotel, the 5rooms is a unique hotel with tasteful decor, a lovely welcoming feel to it and friendly, helpful staff. Save yourself a fortune in taxi fares by taking the bus from the airport as the 5rooms is in a great location just around the corner from the Placa Catalunya. It is also...

Children allowed to run wild. Doors slamming. Sounds echoes throughout floor. Unable to sleep two nights in a row with ear plugs. Staff friendly; tried to help. Changed rooms to a quieter area away from dishes clattering, yelling and running children, but downgraded. Staff did not offer to move the noise makers. Would NOT stay here again. Rooms really nice,...

The5rooms is a boutique hotel tucked away in the commercial centre near Plaza Cataluyna. It offers a quiet oasis from the summer tourists' hustle and bustles. It is only 5 minutes from Las Ramblas and 15 minutes to Casa Batllo by walking. The rooms are spacious and the double pane glass windows shields you from the traffic noise below. The...

The 5 Rooms is ideally located near the Plaza Catalunya in the centre of the modernista Eixample district. A short stroll to Las Ramblas, shops, restaurants, bars and Gaudi's sights. We stayed in one of the hotel's two apartments which are next door. It was ideal for three people with a separate double bedroom, galley kitchen, comfortable living room with...

This inn is an inviting, stylish, and affordable option in the heart of Barcelona, within a short walk of shopping, restaurants, metro and sights. I highly recommend the Jr. Suite (ours was on the second floor), which was beautifully decorated with unique furnishings, a wall of windows, king-size bed, and large bathroom. It felt like an apartment (minus the kitchen)....

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
