The hostel was reasonably clean and in a very good location. An easy shuttle from the airport and very close to Placa Catalunya. There is also a travel agency just a few doors down so that was helpful when booking the bus tour. The staff was friendly and it wasn't noisy at night. My only small complaint is that the...

I stayed here about 12 months ago when we went to Barcelona. What a stunning city!! When we got into central Barcelona we got lost and couldn't find our bearings but eventually did get to it via a taxi and it turned out it wasn't even that far from the centre. About 10 minutes on foot. Upon arrival we were...

I liked the location but I had a drunk/drugged crazy person one night that made lots of noise outside my room and when I went out to investigate he tried to push himself into my room. I had to pull the door closed on his fingers but he wouldnt let go and kept shouting at me in Spanish! I was...

Hostal Central's location is just great, just some minutes by feet from Plaza Catalunya and metro stations. It gives you a good opportunity to reach any place you plan to visit in Barcelona. It's easy to get from there to Casa Batlló, Las Ramblas, and by the way to/from airport too, because aerobus's stop is right on plaza Catalunya. There...

Central to all attractions- La Rambla&Plaza Catalunya. 5 mins and your at the hub off all activity and to buses & metro. The hostel itself is basic and worth the $60 euros a night but it's no luxury. We had the basic double room with shared bathroom and it was ok. If you come in summer there is no air...

If you plan to spend your trip to Barcelona on all day walks and experiencing the city, Hostal Central in Ronda Universitat is definitely a great choice. Located in the very heart of Barcelona, few minutes from the main city square Plaça Catalunya and main metro, bus and train stations. Rooms are clean and comfortable and hostel staff is friendly...

If you want a cheap double room in a great location for airport transfers (EUR 5 from Barcelona Airport) and the city (5 mins walk to Placa Catalyuna and Las Ramblas) then I'd highly recommend this place - however, my girlfiend struggled to sleep the first night as the room faced onto a very busy road with constant traffic all...

I went to Barcelona last March, with 3 friends. Stayed in Hostal Central for 3 nights. Its quite easy to find this hostel, as it is located alongside the busy Ronda Universitat. At the ground floor, there are building keeper who control the main entrance. So, security-checked. We were greeted by antique elevator as the 3/4 story(i don quite remember)...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
