Detailed Reviews
Great location, reasonable price, very polite and helpful staff. Just a couple of things that we was slightly unhappy with. We paid for a balcony room to open our door to find a non existing balcony, something like this wouldn't bother me but when you are paying for something I expect to at least get what is advertised. I was also on the top floor (floor 6) my room was right next to the lift, so every time someone got in the lift you could hear it, it felt like the motor to the lift was in my room. If it wasn't the lift waking me up at all hours, the cleaners like to hoover outside your room at 8am. I know they have a job to do but after a heavy New Years Eve would of been nice for a peaceful morning.

My wife and I booked in this hotel for a short stay in Barcelona for our 10th year anniversary and we couldn’t have been happier.
Location:
Spot on. It was within 10 mins walk of La Rambla or the closes Metro station (which is super clean and easy to use). There is a crazy amount of restaurants, cafes, bodegas, take always etc etc
Staff:
Super friendly and went the extra mile as we mentioned it was our anniversary. They make the room extra special for us
The room:
We were in room 603 on the 6th floor. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The room had an open style clothes racking system rather than a wardrobe, a safe, balcony, decent sized bathroom with a great shower.
Overall we were really happy with our stay and wouldn’t dream of booking anywhere else when we inevitably return to Barcelona.

Usually with a city break I’m of the opinion that ‘as long as it’s well located and clean it’s fine’ but our stay was just a little uncomfortable.
The shower was a cold trickle; no power at all and barely above lukewarm at best. The temperature in the room was very uncomfortable. The air con / heater didn’t seem to do anything but tell us how warm the room was and even in January at one point it was 32oC at 2am! The window was lovely and big so we slept with it open for most of the night but they do open on to a very loud road above several bars and what sounded like the bins and recycling being collected every night at around 2am. The rooms are quite small which was fine for us as we didn’t have much stuff but if you’re travelling with more than hand luggage it would be tight.
The hotel is really well located for lots of the main sites including las Ramblas, la Boqueria, palace Güell and the marina and several metro stops. It was also really clean. We just really struggled to sleep and I probably wouldn’t stay here again for that reason.

Perfect for our 4 day stay in Barcelona. We arrived at the hotel at 11pm thanks to the taxi service from the airport to the hotel (given the time). Hospitality and helpfulness despite the fact that the Italian language is little known (English is ok anyway). Very clean room, daily towel change, rich breakfast (I recommend including it when booking) and very discreet staff service at breakfast with good supervision. Always available to give you information at reception. The location is close to the university and the street is always busy (rooms on the upper floors are better...we were on the sixth). Even upon departure (we had to catch an early flight on Sunday) without any problems they prepared a take away bag for us with a donut sandwich, muffin, fruit, juice and a bottle of water. Another detail...from 12:00 to 20:00 on the breakfast floor there is free use of the coffee dispensing machine, hot chocolate, milk and hot water for a selection of tea bags...for a break after a day spent to visit the city. I couldn't attach photos but I give it a well-deserved 10. Small hotel with 6 floors...but with everything essential for an itinerant traveler like me. BRAVI....and W Catalonia!

I stayed with my children in August 2024. The hotel is strategically located a few steps from the Universidad metro station where many lines run. Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya are a 10-minute walk away.
The rooms are modern and spotless, equipped with air conditioning and other amenities. The furnishings are particularly refined and tasteful. The staff was always kind and considerate. For those who want to go to the beach it is possible to have free beach towels on loan. The top of the service is represented by the lavish breakfast buffet served in a bright and cozy room and the free luggage storage that you can use after checking out. The luggage room is equipped with an automated system and at the time of baggage recovery there is also the possibility to change, use the bathroom, take a shower and drink a coffee. Super!

After I booked this hotel I read the reviews about the location and was going to change hotels, so glad we didn't. The hotel was a little gem in Barcelona, staff were great, exceptionally clean and the rooms really trendy. The area El Ravel which we had read many negative reviews was vibrant and fun, I even left my window open at night to take in all the sounds. We loved the skateboarders and even sat and had a drink in a little bar round the corner and watched them. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from La Rambla and Playa Cataluyna, I would highly recommend this hotel, Acta BCN 40 thank you for your hospitality

I booked this before reading any reviews as it was a prime location and lovely rooms. After reading reviews about the street it's on, i had second thoughts about changing hotel but i'm so glad i didn't! We had a street facing balcony (room 405) and couldn't hear much when the door was closed like some have said on here. The rooms were so clean and modern and the receptionists were very friendly. We went out sometimes at 10:30pm and had no problems with the street or the people there at all. It's a lovely traditional street with a buzz about it. Great little kebab shop up the street too which was handy! My only wish was that the room had a mini fridge as we found it hard to keep our water cold but apart from that, it's definitely worth more than 2 stars!

The hotel, from the outside, does not arouse the enthusiasm that one might imagine by looking at the photos of the rooms. In fact, its strong point are precisely the rooms. But two things also pleasantly struck me: the possibility of using a coffee machine for free (and I don't drink one), but above all the presence of a system of lockers, into which you can place your suitcase after having done your shopping. check out. In fact, all too often, you find yourself having to leave the hotel by a certain time, but still have time to get around the place. The problem doesn't exist here: you leave your suitcase, inserting a 2 euro coin and when you return you leave the key and take the coin back. Really top.
What we didn't like · If we really want to find a criticism (but independent of the hotel), our room overlooked a museum, in front of which there was a multitude of skateboard enthusiasts, who performed jumps and stunts, which however echoed in the square. The problem is that they often go on until late at night.

Although quite small, it had everything we needed. It was well thought through. There was enough space for luggage and shower was big enough. The bed was extremely comfortable! Friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Its an old building in a small street with little supermarkets, and close to metro Universitat and walking distance to la Rambla. For 2 euros you can leave luggage in a locker. Taxis can also be arranged at reception. Nice cosy hotel, not luxurious but it had all what you need and very comfortable.

The BCN 40 is a little haven surrounded by Barcelona. It is a short walk to the Picasso, and Modern museums. Also it was a very close to Barcelona cathedral. We stayed on the 6th floor. The rooms on this floor are super compact, but it had most everything that you need. I definitely recommend booking at this place.

Yes, we do have an elevator for our clients.
Yes 😁
If you go on their own website it tells you all the facilities the hotel offers
It’s a lovely little hotel
Hope this helps
Baggage storage is 2 euros and or taxi was about 25 euros. A bus and the Metro can be taken from the airport, leaving you about 5 mins walk. The Metro I think is 5 euros.
