Wasn't sure what to expect when we booked here, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was a suite with a private balcony. It certainly looked the part and was comfortable. A few mod cons appeared to be missing, but anything you need can usually be found at reception, such as a safe, and the staff are very accommodating...

This was a very quaint hostel themed to its name of antiques. Perfect location from which we walked two full days in all directions (16 miles in all) to see everything from Mediterranean Sea to Sagrada Family Cathedral and all kinds of fabulous buildings, parks, statues, restaurants, etc. The man at front desk was very friendly and helpful and spoke...

Lovely hotel full of interesting things to look at, both in the rooms and the communal areas. The staff will go out of their way to help you with restaurant recommendations, carrying luggage, and money-saving vouchers. We booked the H102 suite with city view, which was definitely worth it for the private balcony with coffee table. The bed was comfortable...

L'antic Espai is a wonderful artful hotel, with friendly owners who will help with anything. The location is great, walking distance to the Rambla and central shopping opportunities. Everything worked for us, can recommend this place and would definitely stay again

This is a small hotel that feels like someone's house. The airconditioning didn't work the first night I was there but the owners got on it immediately and it was promptly fixed. It's not a place where you want to spend a lot of time in your room. Just do the tourist things all day and crash at night. The best...

Excellent, centrally located hotel on the edge of the Eixample and a short walk to La Rambla, the Metro and Pl. de Catalunya. Service was fantastic, especially Mohamned who greeted us on our later check in. Our room faced the main street which was a bit loud with street traffic in the evening but nothing unexpected when staying in a...

We selected the Hostal L' Antic Espai because it is centrally located to transportation and all sights. We occupied Room 102. This room is a suite with a private city view balcony. The room was quiet and insulated from the city noise. As report in other reviews we did pick up a sewer smell in the bathroom our last day....

Owner has distinguished his hotel from others by providing very homely and attractive accommodation. High quality antiques are on display and rooms are bedrooms are nicely decorated. They are a good size and bathrooms is modern An excellent location being on main airport bus line, and easy walking distance to main attractions.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
