Tiny room with tiny bathroom. Thin walls hearing other people in other rooms. This hotel is located on the 1st floor of a bldg which includes going up a 28 step (normally 14 steps/flr in US) winding cement staircase (see photos) to access from the G (ground) floor hall entry. It even includes in the Hotel Facility Accessibility Description: “Elevator” for handicap even including a wheel chair photo. All Guests are required to manually lift their own individual suitcases up a 28 step spiral cement staircase to get to their 1st floor Check In desk. If you are traveling with heavy luggages (ie: 50lbs each allowance for airline), you will be expected to walk up your suitcases to the 1st floor where a tiny elevator is located to get from Flr # 1-4. Their is no porter service. While the hotel discloses that an elevator is available from the 1st floor. It does not disclose that there are 28 steps spiral stairs for the guest to climb up to get to the 1st floor. There are over 70 photos provided by the hotel to show their rooms & facilities. However, no photos of the stairs? This false advertisement of “Handicap” accessibility is illegal and should be flagged by Travel websites.…

Thank you Jeff Lim for sharing your review. We are sorry for any possible misunderstanding during your stay with us. Due to the structure of the building, we are unable to have an elevator at street level. As you mentioned, you only have to climb 25 steps to get to reception. Once at reception we have a small elevator that gives access to all rooms. This information is very clear on our website and in the confirmation email. As you mentioned, we are a hostal and we do not offer a bellboy/baggage service, however, when possible and as it was in your case, we try to help our guests with their luggage. Great stay at this hotel. Really lovely helpful staff fabulous breakfast with lots of choice and good nights sleep in family room - everything very clean. Would definitely stay again and would recommend - a solid centrally located budget hotel Thankyou!

The location besides the Las Ramblas is unbeatable. We had a family room, which was small, but very functional. The breakfast was ok. The owner kindly provided us all the information about our stay. Our room was at the interior side of the building, so just a small window towards the courtyard , but no problem with that. The only issue I personally had was the impractical walk in shower with the water flooding to the room.

Perfect location. It is on Las Ramblas, the busiest street. Everything is within walking distance so this was very convenient for us; food, shopping, bars, and even sight seeing, you can just get on the metro there are stops in front of the hotel. It was our first visit to Barcelona for my friend and I, so we wanted to get a place in the Gothic Quarter to save time on traveling. We loved our stay, the staff was very welcoming and friendly, they offer great hospitality. If you need anything just ask. I had swollen feet due to a lot of walking, they gave me a mini fridge to keep cooling pads for my feet. Also the rooms were cleaned everyday, really no complaints. Except the bed could be more comfortable, otherwise we had a great stay.

Very good location, but there were insects (cockroach) in the room!!!! Room equipment and breakfast were OK. The hotel is old but renovated. there was only one small window in the room. the air conditioning worked, but the temperature could not be adjusted - it was broken. But nothing would bother us more than a cockroach by the bed!

Upon your arrival and during the cleaning our staff left the room in perfect condition. We take care in depth of the cleanliness of our facilities and this is reflected in the vast majority of our reviews. As we informed you in our previous communications by email, it was an isolated case and it is likely that it came attached to your suitcase or could have entered through the window. I arrived at this hotel at about 3am, jetlagged, without my luggage, and totally frazzled by the airline which had messed up my connection in Lisbon. The person at the desk was very kind and helped me get myself sorted out. I got up later that same day and saw that breakfast in the hotel was in a room on the second floor that overlooked Las Ramblas, a street designed for strolling and meeting friends, used by thousands; this really cheered me up. Later, I got a lot of help from another staff member, Christian, who was really helpful in retrieving my luggage. Altogether the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was always pretty good. The location of the hotel, next to Las Ramblas, is a convenient short walk away from many of the attractions that you will want to see in Barcelona. …

I had such a great short stay in this hostal. The receptionist help me to get a room quickly, since I just came and ask for one. The location of the hostal is very nice, because it is in the center. The best thing for me was the fantastic breakfast that was prepared every day. I enjoyed it so much, the food choice was excellent. Will love to come again for sure. Mario from room 107. The location was amazing, just off Las Ramblas and right next door to the Boqueria market. The Liceu metro station is 10 steps away from the front door so it was easy to get to anywhere. There are many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. We had a nice balcony and view and considering the location, you couldn’t hear the noise from outside. The noise from the inside is a different matter but inconsiderate guests can be found at any hotel. I would recommend keeping earplugs handy just in case. They have a nice continental buffet breakfast that starts at 8am and if you are leaving earlier they can also accommodate that. The room was small and very basic. Unfortunately, the room we got had two twin beds beside each other so I kept falling through the middle. They didn’t have a duvet, just thin sheets so it got kind of cold sometimes (but when you turn the heat on, it was super hot). The bathroom was tiny and flooded a little bit when you shower. There’s also a bit of stairs from the front door to the reception so if you can’t do stairs or have a lot of heavy luggage, it’s something to consider. There’s no safe in the room and you have to leave your room key at the reception each time you leave and pick it up when you return. There was always someone there at the reception area so it was never an issue. If you are on a budget or staying for a few nights only, I would highly recommend this place!…

Good location just off Ramblas. Very warm in room, but too noisy with windows open, and no control of air. Wonderful breakfast. Bed was very hard, but ok. Shower separate from bathroom. Eco friendly, although room was cleaned after putting sign to do not disturb. May stay again, although there were many hostals nearby that might be quieter.
