My husband and I have just returned from a visit to Barcelona for 4 days and stayed at the Abrevadero. We were on the whole very pleased with the accommodation. Not perfect and yes a little dated but we found our apartment to be very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful, spoke very good English and were only...

The only positive thing is that is very cheap compare with others, nice position close to the underground station paral-lel

Dear mr Gaetano Banda. I'm afraid you are wrong. You just have to check how many reviews talk about what languages do we speak and how we manage with them. Just for your knoledge I can speak Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian and English. Regarding your doble charge shown in your statement we called with you to your bank, Lloyds Bank,...

Nice neighborhood with cheap restaurants and bakeries just outside the door. Away from the tourist area with possibility to explore the "real" Barcelona, but only about 15 minutes walk from La Rambla. Bus directly to the beach. Very good value for money. I will come backe here again.

My room was really small, was super humid and the bed was old. It was not that clean. It was really noisy, I could hear everything from the hallway and from the other rooms. The breakfast was kind of poor. The location was okay, easy to get from the airport, but not that near from downtown. The wifi was poor....

Stayed here for a couple of weeks to get a good look at the city. Aside from being cheap, it's in the perfect location to see many of the attractions on foot or by public transport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lost one star because the place is a little run down and the bed was very hard, I think...

I spent 2 nights here and loved the central location. Being just off the Ramblas allowed easy access to all the sights but also much more affordable food options if I wanted. Clean comfortable beds. I had my own bathroom. Staff was so easy to work with and very helpful. This is a hostal - not a 4 star hotel,...

Good location , only 100m from Paral.Mel metro stop. Reception 24hrs, friendly and informative. Were able to leave luggage in 2€ lockups for day before flights. Numerous cheap eateries nearby. We were in room 109 which was at rear, away from street noise. Air con, tv, WiFi and en suite toilet/shower were very welcome. Breakfast was good at approx €3...

We needed a base for the night in Barcelona to watch a concert at the Sant Jordi stadium. The hostal was clean and secure and in a perfect location. Everything we needed. Leaving the airport we got on the bus which worked out 5 euros (and 50 cents I think!) but for four of us it worked out cheaper by...

Breakfast at the Abrevadero which cost 3.50euro was a substantial affair. It was a small buffet but had plenty to fill you. At 36euro a night it is a good bargain for them as well as me. This is definitely a good hotel if you are on a budget. It is in the Montjuic area with two metro lines, funicular...

Good location, food just nearby the hotel. It is clean and have a good breakfast. But if possible, some of the room have to renovate. Because the door got hole. I felt like as if I am living in haunted houses. One of the main problem is the attitude of the receptionist. The receptionist is impolite and make me feel...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
