I liked the location of the hostel. It is super nice to wake up and see the beach through its large windows while you eat the free breakfast. But it was NOT nice to freeze to death because you have to rent the blankets for 2 euros and I didn't know until the next day.

Hotel staff is pretty nice. Having also breakfast included is a big bonus for it and you can use a locker for free (just don't forget to bring your own locker). It's literally in front of the sea (Barcelona's sea but the sea nevertheless). There's also supermarkets really close and not so far from the metro.

The mattress was thin & I could feel the bars in the bed, a blanket was €2 extra (...uh what) and it is right by the street, so loud and bright in the room all night. These girls came in at 6am and puked all over the floor. The ONLY reason to stay at this hostel is if you are...

The hostel is much recommendable . Everything is beautifully clean and tidy. The only problem is that you hear the neighbors as the rooms are opened on the top. There is a lovey common room with a fully equipped kitchen.

First, I'm gonna start with the good points, that way I won't seem all mean and stuff. Well, the location is nice, you have the beach right in front of the hostel, and even though you have to walk from the metro station 6-7 minutes to get to the hostel, it is a really nice detail. Plus, the included breakfast...

The location is pretty good, if you want the beach it's literally a stones throw away, clubs like pacha and opium are also close. It it's a shopping and sightseeing holiday you want then you might want to find a more central place ex. Ramblas. The hostel itself is quite a joke, besides the horrible matresses, the strangest thing was...

The directions to find this hostel are very straight forward. After you get off the metro, you just walk along the long street that takes you towards the ocean. Right there in front of the ocean, you will find the hostel hidden inside a small sit-down/take-out restaurant. The people in check in aren't the friendliest in my opinion, they could...

I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here, my experience of this hostel was very miserable. Most suited to large groups of young lads who intend to party every night til 5am and sleep most of the day away on the beach! Cons: Only one sheet for the bed, so I had to wrap myself in it in an effort to...

Raffael who works nights at the hostel welcomed us and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He was the best bit about the hostel, helping us with where the best places were to visit and how to get there in the cheapest way. He also, on request, woke us up at 07:15 on our last morning so we could watch...

My friends and I had a lot to praise this hostel for: an amazing location (right on the beach), friendly staff and a nice atmosphere despite the basic nature you should expect of a hostel. But we would never stay there again, because a good night's sleep is impossible. For some reason, the walls between the rooms are incomplete (only...

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
