We spent 5 nights at this hotel. It is in an excellent, quiet location, near public transportation, not in the middle of the main tourist area. The staff is warm and helpful; the buffet breakfast is varied and good. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free ADSLinternet conenction in each room, free WIFI in the lobby. The center...

Lets face it, you won't be in your hotel for long in Barcelona. This hotel met all the expectations I had. Clean and comfortable nights sleep, cool air-conditioning, convenient location, friendly staff. Its about a ten minute walk to Las Ramblas. We didn't need public transportation except to get to and from the airport. There are bars, restaurants, etc in...

We booked an inexpensive vacation to Barcelona and the HCC Open was where we stayed. The staff was helpful, location a little far from the main sights. It took 1/2 hour to walk to Las Ramblas, but the metro stop was close by if you wanted to get to city center quicker. We decided to stroll outdoors and enjoy the...

Close to the metro stop, otherwise its about a 20 minute walk to the University. Nice rooms, friendly staff (this was important because we tried extending our tour and needed their help with printing and timetables etc.). The only thing that was off was, as we checked in, the carpet outside our room in the lobby was covered in bed...

We stayed for four nights at this hotel and there was very little to fault. Very clean, the staff were very polite and friendly. About 15min walk to the start of Las Ramblas. Barcelona is a wonderful friendly city, but with our £ exchange rate there ain't nothing cheap out there. Don't eat out on the Ramblas, unless you have...

Hotel is a standard modern hotel. Has parking for added cost which is good a not much on the street. HCC is walking distance to most places or close to subway. We walked some days and stopped for coffee or wine to watch the city go by. The Merce festival was great and the wine festival at the port was...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
