We enjoyed our stay at the Silken Concordia. We stayed two nights and paid $95 euro which was pretty reasonable. The room was very clean, had a mini fridge, tv (with English channels which is rare for budget hotels in Europe!), and a pretty big bathroom. The staff was friendly and had internet for 1.75 in the lobby. The location...

The hotel was OK , it was pretty clean and communal areas pleasant, We were disapointed that we couldn't get a hot drink after 10.30 even though the "bar" area was next to reception desk, had to get a take-away from bar across street and return cups in morning ! not what you'd expect in a hotel of this size.parking...

This hotel is great value for money and definitely worth its three stars. Nice room, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. We had no problems with the air conditioning and even when we'd been out all day the room wasn't too hot anyway (temperatures outside were high 20s - low 30s). Location is also excellent - not bang in the...

Silken Concordia perhaps isn’t a luxury accommodation, but definitely worth the three stars and absolutely great value for money. We stayed there for one week in July 2007 (24.-31.7.) with my better half and I have to say that we both loved it. Because there seems to have been some nags about the air conditioning I start by mentioning that...

Room was good & cleaned everyday to a good standard. The window wouldn't close properly & it was a very noisey area. The price was good. The view was awful as you can see from the photo. Wasn't very central so had to keep taking a bus or underground.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in May 07. Great location and friendly staff. The room was nice, not too much noise considering you're in a city, temperature was ok and the aircon worked fine in our room. The size of the room was ok, about the same as a travel lodge room. We didnt have breakfast...

The reviews I read didn't prepare me for this hotel. All my requests at the time of the reservations were satisfied: non-smokers, double bed... The room is big, the bed huge ( 3 persons could sleep there nicely), the small attentions in the bathroom - replaced every day - were fantastic: champoo, shower gel, comb, dental kit, shaving kit, tissues,...

fantastic hotel centrally located. just wish we had been advised better on train/metro. When coming out of airport you can catch the train to Catalunya (4 stops) then transfer to the metro line and travel to poble sac which takes you right outside the hotel. very easy to travel this way. bit like london underground but cleaner and easier to...

We stayed in this hotel during the Barcelona Festival at the end of September 06 and found it to be great value for money. It is clean, modern, and right across the road from Poble Sec tube station. Contrary to other reviews I found the staff very helpful, I booked directly with the hotel and forgot to request a smoking...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
