Brilliant hotel situated in the gothic quarter. Excellent location and smart throughout. Eclectic art, fantastic food and extremely friendly and attentive staff. Well worth staying here, the breakfast was great, especially the fresh juice, bread, meats and cheese.

Great location, close to the gothic quater and plenty of good eateries in easy walking distance. La Rambla is about 20 minute walk but its so nice to stay here. Staff very nice and helpful, rooms were ok, bit dark when it was evening , lighting a bit subdued. the only thing was we booked a room with a balcony...

This is not a fancy hotel but in a great location with a wonderful staff. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. We were able to walk everywhere. The restaurant in the hotel, Senoir Parellada, was excellent. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I were in Barcelona. We really liked it. Ask for room 100. It seemed...

The end of a 3 week trip to Morocco and Spain with friends. 4 "olders" who appreciate a value in accommodations. This worked very well for us. Perfect location on the edge of old Barcelona. Very friendly and competent staff. We avoided the restaurant until the last night because of its hotel location. We should have eaten there earlier. One...

Clara on reception was fabulous, very welcoming and informative both on arrival and on departure - would probably have missed my flight if she hadn't told me about the alteration to the bus service I was catching. Location was perfect, right in the middle of everything. Only complaint, not the fault of the hotel though, was external noise from the...

The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and airy. The breakfast has a lot of choice and lots of fresh ingredients. A lot of the places you would want to visit are in walking distance and lots of great places to eat and drink are close by. The only downside is...

We booked this hotel as a couple. Fabulous central quiet location. Excellent breakfast but get there early as small pastries not replaced. Very friendly staff on reception speaking good English. Only criticism we were on the third floor and the stairs down were very dark, as floor black tiles and lights dimmed. Not easy to see stairs when walking down...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
