Fantastic hotel in a great location. Clean tidy hotel with fabulous friendly staff. Hotel location is just on the edge of the Gothic quarter with so many options within walking distance . Fabulous roof terrance, even in January!
Luxury hotels can look nice, they can have nice soap etc. but what makes a hotel stand out is its people and management. Duquesa is one of the best managed hotels I’ve experienced (with years and years of personal and business high end travel). A few examples: sending an email to inform that one of their restaurants will be closed during our visit (before arrival) taking the small risk of a cancellation but more importantly setting expectations. Most hotels would just apologize post. Another example - noticing from passport that it was daughters birthday and sending up a little cake. Plus making it easy to organize transfers, restaurant etc. All that plus an excellent location, good rooms that can also accommodate a family, etc.
My husband brought me here for a birthday treat, and what a treat it was! The room, location and staff are amazing! The interior decor elegant, stylish and warm. Our room had a balconette overlooking the harbour through which the morning sun would stream. It was a beautiful room with an enormous sumptuous bed, so comfy. Another thing to note is how quiet the room was. The location was fantastic for exploring Barcelona’s city centre. The harbour with its great restaurants was just a few minutes walk. Head in the opposite direction and you are instantly immersed in Barcelona’s vibrant ancient alleyways and narrow streets teaming with restaurants, shops, and eclectic cocktail bars. Or take the lift to the top floor and step out onto the fabulous roof top bar with it’s amazing views of the harbour. The icing on the cake were the staff who were always very friendly and happy to help. From our first encounter with Bea, always with a smile and so helpful, on reception when we arrived and the lovely Ruben who everyday would ensure we had all that we needed. Thank you all so much for making our stay so special! We shall definitely be back to stay with you when we’re next in Barcelona 😊…
The hotel has a perfect location in the center of Barceloneta. It is very clean and the staff very helpful. The terrace has a beautiful view. I m been very positively shocked when the director came to me and offer me a coffee and few minutes of his time. I was in a business trip but I do recommend it also for chilling ⭐️
Great hotel near the metro, bus stations, and the city center. Our rooms were cleaned and the lobby people were attentive and friendly. We paid for the breakfast buffet and the food was amazing. They had an array of choices from fruit, dried meats and pastries. A special shout-out to Ivelca for providing exceptional service during breakfast time.
This hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff is so friendly and helpful! Staff member Reuben was a special treat. Remembered our outings and asked about them when we returned. Rooms very clean and best views of the port from the rooftop bar.
Faultless! The room, location, breakfast and staff were all exceptional! Special mention to Bea and her colleague, whose food recommendations were spot on! Free water every day, nice and quiet rooms, very high standard of cleaning in the rooms too, such a brilliant hotel.
We spent 6 great days at the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona from late Dec to early Jan. We loved our stay and would love to come back for another visit. Some of our favorite aspects of the hotel: First and foremost, the staff. Everyone we encountered there was incredibly nice, proactively helpful and made our stay feel special. We want to particularly call out Ruben, Enrico and Erku - you guys really made our stay great - as well as the house cleaning staff, who managed to make our room spotless every day even though we kept some really odd hours (hello jetlag and a late New Year's Eve). Everyone we encountered there was great. Location - we didn't know too much about Barcelona before we arrived, but we are so thankful to have stayed where we did. Wandering the streets of the Gothic Quarter was one of the highlights of our trip, and we were an easy metro ride from just about everything else on our agenda. The room - sometimes rooms in Europe can feel a bit small compared to hotels in America, but our room felt spacious and easily accommodated 2 adults and a teenager, no problem. The rooftop bar - Nothing like being able to sip drinks, eat tapas and stare out at the lights and the Ferris Wheel across the way at the pier. Not to mention having a great view of fireworks on New Year's Eve. We rarely plan to return places - there's always something new to see! - but on the taxi ride to the airport we were already plotting a return trip. …
Amazing place to stay. Close to beach, Gotic quarter, and other major attractions. Rooms are clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. A special mention also to the staff, who would go out of their way to help guests. This is my second stay and will definitely come back.
I stayed at this hotel for over two weeks from the start of December and what an experience the best staff I've ever encountered in Europe , bar staff , cleaning staff and reception staff were amazing so helpful always had a smile on there face and always went the extra mile to help never had any issues at all I originally only booked for 3 days and ended up staying for over 2 weeks because of how great of a service I was being provided I really am struggling to find a fault in anything about the hotel I recommend everyone who's wanting a brilliantly located central hotel to look no further and if I'm ever back in Barcelona there's only one place I will be stay thank you's so much for such a memorable experience Mr Robertson
