We had problem with finding hotel due to timing. So, we ended up reserving with Levante who confirmed our reservation, but then informed us of problem. No room left - so hotel offered to rent us one of their small apartments for rent. While my sister and her partner - first time to Europe - loved it, we hated it....

A last minute booking, what do you expect? Well more than what I got for my money that's for sure. The rooms were freezing, yes yes, someone was going to put the heater on...in December. It was so noisy and that was on the inside and the staff were indifferent (was I in France instead?).Not recommended even for last minute....

I would definitely echo many of the comments by other reviewers. This is a very basic hostal without much to recommend it beyond its location. GF had stayed several times before and had had reasonable experiences but this time we were singularly unimpressed. As others have noted, furnishings are extremely basic and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Noise...

I was very satisfied with my stay in Hostal Levante. Location is great, just behind Carrer Ferran, close to las Ramblas, lots of shops, bars, restraurants. Room was very clean, must have been renovated recently, very good for the price in Barcelona. Staff was friendly and very co-operative. I found a place to stay at a friends house and checked...

Very well situated little hostal. Small, somewhat spartan rooms, but always clean and tidy, with a little TV room. 24hr desk where you can leave your keys etc. Shared bathroom is fine, not what one might think for a cheap hostel!

My two friends and I stayed here and loved it. The room was basic, but clean. The staff was always friendly. We got just what we expected. We had booked a different hostal (Hostal Avinyo) for the second half of our stay, but ended up coming back to Hostal Levante because they accepted credit cards and were much, much friendlier....

I'm afraid I've got to literally give this an average rating: the LOCATION was absolutely EXCELLENT the noise at NIGHT was TERRIBLE! - that is if you manage to get yourself booked into the first floor room overlookiing the street or alley that's above the supermarket storeroom whose metal shutters are opened at 6, opposite the restaurant that finally closes...

Booked via [----] Basic hotel not too far from all the obvious places to visit - reasonably quite location I thought. €50 for a twin room and our own shower room just down the corridor (with key). This is one of those strange buildings with reception on the 2nd floor and rooms leading off a central area (including lift and...

The hostel is located in the heart of Las Ramblas so you can't beat it. I reserved a room with double beds and private bathroom. It was a little small, but it did not matter since we only slept there. The room were simple, clean and recently remodeled. Very tiny shower, but okay. Very noisy area. But, I am sure...

Just aweful! In all fairness, however, it is a hostal... not a hotel. But the website makes it seem like a nice hotel-- very misleading! The rooms were sparse, boring and uncomfortable. The hallway felt like an institutional ward. The bathroom was disgusting and the TP a mile away from the toilet. Slow draining shower, uncomfortable bed, no TV, clock,...
