Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in the middle of May. Firstly, the hostel is easy to get to from the Aerobus that drops you off at La Ramblas - which is only a 15 minute walk away. It was only €11 each, so I would recommend this, as taxis are pricey. In terms of the hostel...

The only problem I had with them is the check in. I was traveling with my 17 year old son and my brother. I reserved 3 single bed room. When we came in it was double/single beds room. Of cause Iwould not want to share the bed with any of them. Another bed was put in the room but there...

Stayed for four nights and were really pleased with the location which is very close to el Born, our favourite part of the city. Easy access from Barcelona airport via Aurobus which was very efficient. Would definitely stay again but would book an ensuite room as we had a shared bathroom which wasn't great. Friendly staff, 24 hour reception, only...

The hotel was really nice. It was small but it was nice and there was everything needed. The bathroom was private so you don't have to share it. The location was pretty good - near public transport and the city Zoo and 15mins away from La Rambla on foot.

Hostal Orleans is listed as a two star accommodation and is located up 3 flights of stairs up an apartment building, no lifts were available so be prepared to put the lug in luggage, unless you brought backpacks. Not an issue for us which was good as we only packed carry on luggage. We did not receive much of a...

Not sure how to summarize this hotel. Yes, it is a low budget hotel but the rooms are clean, well maintained, the beds where at least to our liking (a bit on the hard side but we like that) and the location is perfect. Busses, trains and metro within 2-3 minutes of walk. But the design is so weird, we...

Not a fancy place, but the price could not be beat. Great location, directly across from Estació de França ( a large train station.) Three flights of stairs up, but rooms were clean and staff were courteous. Would recommend to anyone looking for budget accommodation in Barcelona.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
