While most of these reviews highlight the location, the budget-friendly aspect, and a spacious terrace to hold you and your aching feet over until Barce's nightlife starts, I wanted to give some praise to the front-desk staff--the people that welcome you, make you feel at home at this hostel and in the city. If there's a guy at the front...

Perfect location in the center of Barcelona, good price, great staff, beautiful and home-like interior :) Rooms are quiet and comfortable, some of them have nice balconies. They even bake their own bread for the breakfast :D. For sure I'll back here next time!

This was mine 8-th visit in Barcelona. And for a budget hostel/hotel. It was a real good pleasure to be here. The room itself was mediocre but clean and good taken care off. There is a pretty good coin flip of my story. I do have to explain. Pro's [*] Basic Lunch in the morning (free, for this price superb)...

I initially found this place on Hostelworld and booked it last minute because my other accommodation fell through. I booked it because of its availability and reasonable price. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got to the accommodation. It was a laid back place which is placed very well near Casa Batllo and Passieg de Gracia. It was easy...

I am recommending this hotel if you are looking for a cheap but nice place to stay in Barcelon. Good customer service. The common room is very nice, especially the balcony. You can access the kitchen if you need to cook anything. Few minute walk from metro. The only thing is the room has no aircondition, you can open the...

Hello! I just got back from a 2 week visit to Spain (end of August to beginning of September). My trip began in Barcelona where I stayed at Casa Consell. I booked a private room with shared bathroom and it was absolutely fantastic. The room was clean, towels and sheets were provided and the location was perfect (close to the...

The location is very central for easy access to la rambles and a 20 minute walk to Sagrada Familia. There are also two subway stations very close, the best being Passeig de Gracia with access to three lines. We booked a family room with a private toilet for our 3 night stay at Casa Consell and were given room 8...

We have just returned from a 3 day stay and had such a great time. It is like a hostel/ guest house and less informal than a hotel but that is what we wanted. We had a great breakfast every morning. Toast, pastries and cereal. There is a kitchen where you can cook yourself anything you want. We made up...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
