Great location for Metro station and port. Good family room size with separate room for children, however beds very poor quality. Rooms noisy due to busy streets at night and flashing signs light the room also. Plus side - great choice of breakfast foods incl. gluten free and lactose free products.

Pretty average hotel for 4 stars but we had a comfortable enough stay. It's in a great area in regards to being so close to a metro stop but consider you are a 10 minute walk from main area and the area the hotel is in is a bit dodgy. No big deal for us but maybe not the best...

Hotel is located centrally-the great location unable us to save money as we were able to walk to all of the locations we wanted to visit. The hotel is walking distance from the beach. Our room was spacious room and the hotel staff were friendly.

Our travel agent described this hotel as funky. In reality it's a well equipped, well located 1980's hotel with lots of maple woodwork. Helpful staff, good English, wide buffet breakfast which doesn't change. Only suggestion is ask for an inside room, which is whisper quiet. Our friends in an outside room copped noise from the late-night club below and garbage...

Excellent location, close to las Ramblas with the metro immediately outside. However, my room with balcony badly needed updating as when it rained water came in through the patio doors leaving a drenched carpet and ghastly smell. Service here was diabolical. I lost all my credit cards on my journey from France to Spain arriving at the hotel discovering I...

We had a great stay for 3 nights. The breakfast buffet was really good, with lots of different foods to try out. The hotel was located 50 meters from the metro, which we used to get around with ease. The room wasn't luxurious, but it had all we needed.

This hotel is within walking distance to everything worth seeing and just a 10 minute cab ride to the cruise terminal. The front desk staff was outstanding - very helpful and very courteous. Rooms were clean and well appointed. The breakfast was simply fabulous. Highly recommend!

The Tryp Barcelona Hotel is located in a great position on an avenue close to the port and between Montjuic and La Ravel. Next to a metro station, it is easy to get to and from the airport and handy for the many local restaurants, theatres and bars. The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly and make your stay...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
