Stayed at the hotel for three nights with my husband. Location: hotel is approx 10 min walk from La Rambla and the Port/harbour. Taxi from airport costs approx €35. There is a metro station directly outside of the hotel. The Camp Nou (Barcelona FC) is around a 10min metro journey. Tickets cost €2 each way. Check in: we arrived t...

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights beginning 1st july. On arrival the staff eere friendly and efficient. The reception area of the hotel is lovely. Many hotels around Barcelona can look a bit run down but not this one. Our room was very clean and the view over the city was brilliant. We were on the 8th...

We stayed here for 3 nights prior to a cruise. They would have gotten an excellent rating from us except for their restaurant. The room is small but very clean. There are no tea/coffee making equipment. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom is small but adequate and very clean. A clean bathroom is everything in my books. Air conditioning worked wonderfully....

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights following a Mediterranean cruise this June. I cannot say enough about this hotel. Right from the time we checked in until we checked out, the staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. Our room was pleasant, sleek and clean as was the lobby, bar and pool area. We were...

Stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise last November. Had originally booked through Hotwire and when the hotel had a special price for those dates including free breakfast and bottle of Cava they offered it us for no extra. Now that was something they didn't have to do and very impressed. Our room was spotless overlooking a courtyard...

Just what we needed. A great hotel close enough to centre Barcelona. It seems a long walk on Google maps, but it really is 10 minutes walk to the centre. It is also very easy to walk to Montjuic. The bedrooms are a really decent size and comfortable, all really clean and breakfast was really good. No complains at all,...

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2013. The cleaning staff stole our entire itinerary, which contained flight information, other hotel reservations, and personal contact information from inside a bag in our room which contained snack foods. This was the only thing not locked up. We contacted the front desk in person, and they appeared to find it humorous...

I travelled with a group of girls after booking a long weekend in Barcelona, and I was sharing a twin room with a friend. Check-in was very efficient, and professional. Our room was a corner room - Room 316. We were initially very pleased with the room, extremely large and spacious, with a fridge/mini bar, tv and in-built radio within...

Stayed for 3 nights and arrived quite early so room was not ready. No problem, porter locked our cases away (free of charge !!) and we went off for an hour or so to explore the surroundings. Check in staff may be not the friendliest but it was quick and without problems. Room on 8th floor (821) as requested when...

Stayed here for 4 nights in February. Requested a quiet room as previous reviews had suggested that the rooms at the front of the hotel were noisy and was given a room that was peaceful throughout the stay. Overlooked the city roof tops which did include the balconies of the buildings behind but we didn't mind this. Room was spacious,...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
