I would never again stay at the Hotel Apsis Splendid or any of their other hotels. The hotel manager was unreasonable and unkind. We were charged for an extra room because of a confusing error on their website. We were never even offered the key...More
I stayed here because I'd arranged to meet up with friends in Barcelona and they suggested it for budgetary reasons. As such it was adequate: a very spacious room (internal, so no street noise), decent quality bathroom and spotless. I just hated the bed -...More
We stayed at the Splendid for 1 night prior to a cruise. The Hotel had been booked for us by our Cruise Agent and having read some mixed reviews on Trip Advisor we went with a very open mind.

They booked us for two rooms instead of one and initially told us they'd take care of it. The next day, they informed us that we would be charged for the extra room and threatened to call the police if we didn't sign the voucher...More
We stayed at the Apsis Splendid hotel for 2 nights in June 2008 following our Mediterranean cruise from the port of Barcelona. (It was a dream vacation!) We were also supposed to stay 1 night prior to the cruise, but our American Airlines flight was...More
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

From Barcelona Sants to the hotel there is no shuttle but you have different choices to get the hotel. One by taxi , it's gonna cost you around 20€ (depends on how many luggage you carry) ohter one by subway you need to take the Line3 (green color) to Plaza España and then over ther switch the line to Line2 (red color) to plaza universidad (5 min walking distance to the hotel).
In some cities in Spain Uber is allowed, in Barcelona don't at the moment.
The hotel just get renovated in most of our rooms, a few ones remain like the old pictures. To differentiate them you will see that you can book standard room (old ones) and superior rooms ( renovated).
