The Hotel California offers a good location at a good price. The rooms are a bit Spartan, but not overly so and have good storage. I can recommend it - with one major and two minor warnings. The major warning: it is on a narrow, noisy street. The windows are well soundproofed, but the hotel offers air conditioning only in...

I booked this following good reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not at all disappointed. The welcome was warm and friendly. I contacted the hotel about 6 weeks before arrival and asked for a twin room and was impressed that my request was remembered and acted on at check in. The room was very basic but really clean with...

We stayed here for a long weekend in October / November and had a great time. The location is excellent in the gothic quarter and just seconds walk away from Las Ramblas. Staff were friendly and helpful, check-in quick and easy. The room was small but more than adequate, clean with all the facilities that we needed. Breakfast was not...

Room was very small. Work desk was super small and very low, easy to hit knees. Lift is small, too. 1 person with 1 checked baggage fills it all. Location is perfect. Licea station on La Rambla is very close. The actual street is narrower than an entrance in a shopping mall. Taxi cannot drive there, short walk is necessary....

This hotel is nothing special but does the job very well. Stayed in a solo room which has a small double in. Clean and well presented in the room. The location is fantastic for a hub. The metro is literally 2 minutes walk away. Good connections for the airport which took about 30 minutes give or take. It's worth getting...

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
