We stayed two nights with friends at this hotel and it was way above what we had hoped for. Room was small but the bed was comfortable and quiet. Overall condition of the hotel was extremely good and staff friendly and efficient. Very central and convenient for getting out and about as well. The price we paid was very competitive...

We stayed for 2 nights from 5-7 April. Great location, just off La Rambla and 5 minutes walk from Placa Reial. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and knowledgable Maite on Reception and upgraded to a very nice Boutique Terrace room. I cannot speak highly enough of Maite; she is a credit to her profession and to...

I visited the hotel a few days ago over easter weekend with my mum and two sisters. The hotel is decorated to a high standard but I felt the rooms where very basic for the amount we paid. Lack of soundproofing to the rooms meant I barely got any sleep for the three nights I was there. The area is...

First time in Barcelona with my daughter and the hotels location provided the perfect base to explore , I'm not sure it could have been any better! Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome . My one negative is that the roof terrace and pool were not open as that would have been ideal with a...

Bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet satisfies all desires and kind personel responds to special requests. You have the old city and sea front within a few...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.

The 4 Star Superior Hotel Espana is located in the heart of Barcelona's historic centre, adjacent to La Rambla, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Gothic Quarter. Opened in 1859, it was later renovated by the celebrated modernist architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner. The hotel has always been considered a little gem of Barcelona modernism. Completely renovated in 2010, it combines modern interior design with the classicism of a nineteenth century building. Hiya

We got a taxi from the airport it should be about $75 about £50.

It was worth the money as the short amount of time you have there.

Drinks are expensive at the bar of the hotel be warned

Dear Bettyboop...,

Our late check outs are subject to availability. You can ask for it directly on the front desk and they will be able to let you know if this is possible and the rate for it.

However, if you really want to have this confirmed contact our reservations department directly so they can offer you a special rate to block the room on your check out date.

Looking forward to welcome you soon at Hotel España,
