Me and my partner booked a lovely weekend away in this hotel, so we could enjoy a festive break in the city and visit the Christmas market. We upgraded to the Cathedral View Superior Room and the room view did not disappoint! The Christmas market was right beneath our balcony and of course, looked right out onto the Cathedral, absolutely stunning. I can’t fault the staff, so lovely and helpful when we got there and very attentive and polite when we returned from our days out. The hotel was immaculate and even smelt amazing! Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfortable. I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona, especially with it being in such a perfect location; within walking distance to all of the tourist attractions, and even public transport if you’re wanting to travel further afield.…
Wonderful hotel with a great location. Room was a nice size defitely not too large but not small. We had a beautiful view of the Catherdral with a small terrace. Upon check in, they give you a card for a free cava at their restaurant to use during your stay, nice touch! Very nice staff. Breakfast is fantastic. Only slight downside, bed was a little hard but still had a good nigts rest. Would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in the Gothic Quarter.
We picked this hotel because of the location and because the rooms looked nice. We were not wrong on both counts. Very comfortable room and the location was perfect. Half of our luggage had been lost before arriving, and the staff, particularly the evening staff were very helpful and accommodating in helping us with a problem they did not cause. They let us store our luggage the final day while we roamed the city waiting to board a cruise. Overall an excellent experience. English spoken by all staff.
Stayed in a "Design Room" at Hotel Colon. Good size room and bathroom. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice and delicious pastries. Staff were helpful and friendly Perect location in tghe Gothic quarter ovelooking Catedral Square
A very underwhelming experience. Hotels dated, service could be improved, and my bathroom wasn't great. My room overlooked the cathedral but it's so noisy out there, you'd be better off round the side. I was woken both mornings by housekeeping banging around, hoovering the hallway and singing. Shower took an age to heat up, and the rainfall shower head flooded the bathroom. Staff didn't even ask how my stay was on check out.
Perfect location in Gothic quarter. Room clean and comfortable, reasonably but not exceptionally furnished. Staff polite and efficient with the exception of one rather surly waiter serving outside one evening. On the downside, the bar isn’t very well stocked (no liqueurs), one of the two lifts was frequently out of order and most disappointing of all was the WiFi quality which more often than not was little more than useless. For these reasons, we probably wouldn’t return.
Lovely hotel, superbly located for all the sights Barcelona has to offer. We spent a long weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean, decent sized well equipped rooms. Polite, helpful and knowledgeable (multilingual) staff who were always happy to help.
Hotel lobby was lovely. Staff at check in were welcoming and polite. Great location in Gothic quarter directly opposite cathedral. Wonderful daily buffet breakfast. We had a cathedral view room. It was clean and spacious. VERY loud as you are right on the square. Difficult to get to sleep due to constant music and church bells and people in the square. I gave it 3 out of 5 for the following reasons. The hall on floor 5 smelled like a sewer. It was nauseating and worse, when we walked into our deluxe cathedral view room after a long overnight flight, the foul odor in the room was overwhelming. The bellman noticed it immediately. Front desk said “something with the pipes “ and nothing they could do. If you kept toilet seat down it resolved hours later…but returned the next day and the next. One morning there was ZERO water at all. The day we were leaving they had to shut off hotel water for the morning. The odor was persistent throughout our stay. It’s a real shame. Staff were ok but nothing special (other than the really nice lady at checking n) and one of the bellman was flat out rude when I asked what floor the roof bar was on. He actually rolled his eyes at me and was nasty. Our beds were two twins pushed together, which is common in Europe, but not ideal for couples since they are made separately and do not at all stay together. Lol Beautiful in appearance, but the odor and pipe/water problems are a real problem. I’ve read this on other reviews and was hoping we wouldn’t have experienced that. For the above reasons I would not return.…
chose to stay here for a short stay in the city. `it has a great location facing the cathedral in the square which is then only a short walk to the famous La Rambla. The greeting by staff was friendly, helpful and continued throughout our stay from every member of the team. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was very nice, a choice available on the buffet which would suit all tastes, and plentiful too. The room was great, we had a triple room which can often be space restricted, but not this one, it was fab, a designated dressing area, a nicely set out bathroom with double sinks and a large walk in shower. The beds were comfy too. if visiting Barcelona again we will definitely stay there and also pass on our recommendation to others looking for a great place to stay.…
Great hotel in Gotic area. Nice central location! Safe beautiful area to walk around in with restaurants and shops close by. We had a basic room on 2nd floor. Room was clean and nice. Small refrigerator to keep water and drinks. And staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they manned the door and looked out for guests. Bed was a bit hard but tolerable. A/c worked decently. Housekeeping was prompt and did a good job. Rooftop bar was a nice place to hang out with a view. I would definitely stay here again.
