The location of the hotel is very well situated just off the Las Ramblas. The area around is buzzing till the wee hours in the night. It seemed safe enough to move around even in the night. The famous Tablao Flamenco Cordobes show is just a few minutes walk away !! But you do need to book in advance :)... More

All that was good about this hotel is the location - very close to la ramblas. The rooms and hotel is very old inside - the bath even scratches your skin when you sit in it. Breakfast not included for an expensive hotel. Pool area on rooftop very average. Not worth the price or the star rating.

Great Hotel- Excellent Location, The staff is amazing in how they help you. You are just around the corner from Ramblas, across the street from outstanding food. The rooms are modern and well kept, space is ample, but not overdone for Spain. The Breakfast is the very good - with fruit and eggs and breads- plenty of coffee.

Booked this hotel through local travel agent. Hotel set less than 100 yards down a small street just of the Ramblas itself. very stylish entrance. Our room had just had a refurbish and was very quite and comfortable. Everything we needed for a three nights. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and it suited us well. The breakfast... More

We arrived very late at night to a very warm reception. The hotel is just of Las Ramblas giving it a very central location. We were disappointed that despite booking a reservation for 2 rooms together we were allocated rooms 2 floors apart. The hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done although it could be reviewed in the... More

The location of this hotel is great, you can walk to most places. The room was comfortable and clean although because of its location a little dark. The doors are heavy and this makes them bang which was a little annoying as you could hear other guest coming and going. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. Nice rooftop bar... More

After we booked this hotel I read some terrible reviews but what I actually found was a really great, clean and modern hotel with really lovely and helpful staff. It was also in a great location The room was absolutely spotless. The bath is coming to the end of its life and could do with replacing but the bathroom was... More

Before going to this hotel I read a few unflattering reviews and I was a bit worried, but should not have been Yes the pool is hardly a swimming pool, but lovely to cool off in and the barmen make a fab mojito and the tapas snacks were lovely The location is its biggest selling point... I was in this hotel from Saturday until Monday with my aunt, cousin and my mother. The hotel rooms were clean, the location is perfect for exploring Barcelona and the breakfast buffet was delicious!! And the staff was always friendly. We also spent a couple of hours at the pool on the roof top! Super nice. The only negative point... More

Just returned from 3 days at Silken Ramblas booked through alpha rooms with friends. The hotel more than satisfied us, clean, stylish and quiet. The one problem I had - faulty hairdryer- was resolved quickly with the fast delivery of a replacement. Incidentally the replacement was the best quality hotel hairdryer I've ever used! Multiple settings and cold shot, ideal... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
