Hi All, I just wanted to let you all know that I booked this place last moinute as I leave everything until the last minute. I was very sceptical as everywhere else was at least €100-200 euro more expensive. Another strange thing was that you had to ring some1 and meet them to take you to the hostel (again I...

My friend kindly organised out a contagion for our long weekend, and I don't think I could have chosen a better location! The hostel is a few paces from Las Ramblas, and is a great place for commuting as it's situated close to several metro stops. The front of the hostel was very discrete, there is no indication that it's...

If there's a better price/performance ratio for an accommodation so centrally located, please let me know about it! After a few days on my own in Barcelona, some friends were joining me, so after some research, we chose to stay @ Apt RamCat. The communication when booking was prompt, and as several reviewers have mentioned, we were met in front...

Stayed here two years ago (during the Volcanic ash fiasco). We were fortunate to be allocated a large room with a shared bathroom. There weren't quite enough blankets for a cooler time of year BUT the cost was so cheap and the location so good that it more than made up for it. One small issue was that one other...

I stayed in a triple room for 3 nights during April/May 2012. I was met by the hostess infront of hardrock cafe and taken to the hostel. She kindly answered any questions that I had. Advised which areas to visit and avoid. The room was clean and contained lockable units. It was facing the street (which is just off the...

I waited and waited, and waited and waited and the host never showed up. This is not an honest place apparently because they don't give out their address. They say they will meet you and they don't! They are running an illegal "hostel" so they don't want authorities to tax them for running a hoste. THATS why they don't give...

We booked a double room for 4 nights at Ramcat and enjoyed our stay. We read the reviews and were very sceptical about booking but it was great! We had to ring the number supplied and meet a woman at The Hard Rock Cafe and she showed us to the hostel. We got a tour of the apartment, a map...

I was so glad to be recommended to stay in Ramcat by friends. It is just slightly off the exciting and colourful street of La Rambla and very close to other places of interest and transport links. It is very clean for hostel standards. The common areas are cleaned everyday; and rooms cleaned and towels/linen changed once in 2-3 days....

On my spectacular tour through Europe I have only one thing to complain about, and that´s RamCat in Barcelona. It all started when we came to La Rambla in Barcelona, where we met a staffmember of RamCat, a short man with curly hair and glasses. I didn´t have time to catch his name as he rushed us to the hostel...

We stayed in the Ramcat for a long weekend and had a great weekend. This is more like a shared apartment than a hostel and is great value for money. We met Marcel at the agreed time outside the Hard Rock Cafe. We stayed in a double room in the apartment which is situated just off Las Ramblas. There's a...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
