Not only were the rooms and bathrooms clean, the staff was incredibly helpful to answer any and every question. They went out of their way to make sure that as guests we felt comfortable and at-home in Barcelona. Thanks Somnio!

Great central location, small homey hostel on the second floor and very friendly and helpful staff! The rooms do face the road so it may be a little noisy from the traffic but actually not that bed! Definetely to recommend!

I spent 3 nights with my husband in Somnio Hostal. Like other people has commented, the staff was friendly and helpful, but our room was very small, and we had to share bathroom with 6 girls living next door... This created some waiting as the toilet and bathroom was not separated. Furthermore, our room was situated right next to the...

I stayed at Somnio in a private double room with a shared bath for 2 nights in May 2010. The first brilliant thing I noticed when I arrived was the location – as it is just a couple blocks from Plaza Catalunya, you are just a 5 minute walk from public transit, shopping, and tourist bus pick-up and drop-off points,...

Booked online for a great price. Stayed in a six person room, small, but I was only there to sleep. Very clean. I liked that the shared bathrooms were private, not like most hostels with mutliple showers and toilets. The sisters who own it are great and so are the staff that work there. Perfect if your from the US...

I had little troubles this time in Barcelona, because I only had booked in advanced hotel for half time of my stay. I had no idea that in that time (10-17.02) in Barcelona was some big conference and literally all hotels were fully booked! from my search in www.booking.com I had 2 options: president suite for 1500euros or 1 bed...

I had a great experience at Somnio. The staff were incredibly friendly and really made me feel at home. The hostel is modern and clean with spacious dorms. There isn't much of a communal area for meeting people though I would really recommend it if you are travelling with friends or just want a good night sleep right in the...

Breakfast should be given an attention. Try to improve your menu even to pay more on your breakfast rate.

This was perfect for two couples with private bathrooms. Located in the heart of the city; we could walk to many things and the buses and metro were right there also. Very friendly and helpful with advice on things to do. Dorms looked very nice also but we used private rooms.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
