I am very pleased with the hotel. If I had read the reviews prior to booking it, insight not have discovered this gem. 1) Excellent Location - step out of the main door and on the right is the cathedral and Plaza Major 2) Around it, there are heaps of restaurants: to the right, left, in front and behind. One can never go hungry here. Though it is right in the heart of action, I was not disturbed by any noise. Perhaps it's the location of the room, the time of the year - winter & no one stays out in the wintry cold to paint the town red? 3) The Roman aquaduct & the Jewish quarters are all within walking distance from the Hostal. 4) Room size is OK for a double bed. More importantly, room is clean and the shower works perfectly. Hot water comes on almost instantly and the water pressure is so strong that water comes out like a torrential rainfall. 5) For that offer price of €22.50 per night, its truly one of the best value I have had. Imagine paying this compared to €18 for just a bed in a 4-bed dorm. 6) If you need information in English and you can be upset because the Hostal staff cannot offer it, there is the tourist information nearby: one near the aqueduct and another near St Martin Church. 7) The lady at the reception may not have a friendly disposition but they can be helpful if communication is understood. They speak little (almost none) English and I have extremely limited mastery of espanol but I managed to borrow a USB charger from them that evening without a hitch. The lack of English mastery could be the reason for her reticence. 8) If I ever return to Segovia, I will definitely book a room in this Hostal again.

Small but nice room. Shower was a bit small but not a problem. Restaurant next door owned by hotel. Food was good and at a great price. Had a nice breakfast for 4.5 euros. Close to city center and the major plaza. Lovely Christmas experience. I would stay there again should I return.

It's close to the cathedral and there's Jose Maria Restaurant right next door where we had the roasted suckling pig dinner. On the night we visited we were in the middle of the passion possession we gathered half of the town's residence were joined in the possession. It was quite a scene.

Had always stayed in the single rooms last two times i was there, this time made it a double room for an extra 15 euros, much larger. Very clean and very well ran Spanish Hostal, Parking Proprios in Garage 5 minutes away, locked and safe. Little Cantina adjacent to the hotel serves nice breakfast and tapas. Mostly recommended.

I could see why some had some mixed reviews of this hostal. It is a bit ran down yes but it is not a 4/5 star hotel once again and @ 35 euros for a single bed a night it is most reasonable considering the location. The rooms are small but clean, it can be noisy at night when people come into the hallway depending on where your room is located, that is why i always bring earplugs when travelling. Staff has always been friendly the two times i went, helpful in coming to park the car with us at their private car park 5 minute walk from the Hostal ( it cost 10 euros for parking the car) and if you do come by car i would recommend this option as Parking is scarce around town. Good desanuyo at the small bar adjoining the Hostal if you need it. Located right next door to the best Asador in Segovia Meson Jose Maria.
