The hotel is Located in the heart of the city just a very short walk to the plaza mayor and then too the other major sites. At check in the staff were just so friendly and helpful check in was efficient and quick. The room we had was very big with great views over the square and the market and it’s beautiful stained glass windows. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The food at breakfast was varied and good quality. My only complaint would be that the coffee from the machine was very weak and not very nice. I am a coffee snob and like a good coffee in the morning. Otherwise everything was wonderful and we would definitely recommend this place to everyone and if we are ever in Salamanca again we would definitely come back to this hotel.

I spent a week in this lovely hotel in October 2022. It is located in the old center of the city of Salamanca, just 50 Mt from the main city square (Plaza Mayor of Salamanca). They clean the room and change towels each day and the breakfast is from 7.00 a.m. per week, 8.00 a.m. at weekends and offers real coffee and a lot of different food.

Excellent location by the market and old town with secure parking (though access for cars is tight). Helpful Reception. Room is spacious, clean, comfortable - it has all you need really. Breakfast is very good value. We would very happily stay again.

The pros: It is a new hotel, best location, with private parking. The cons: They have small, very small rooms, like Hobbiton, with an absurd bathroom where you cannot even seat properly in the toilette. The window overlooks an alley where young people reunite yelling, all night long. See the pics. I do not recommend this hotel.

A terrible experience in Salamanca! We booked a double room, which was more expensive than the superior rooms, and thus thinking it would be better, and we were given a lousy and very little room on the first floor next to the lifts and stairs (so, extremely noisy day and night), with a window to a small lightwell and which could not even be opened (so, with no fresh air and providing absolutely no privacy to the room if the courtains were open). After checking the superior rooms which were given to our friends, and finding out that they were a bit larger and better, with a window to the exterior of the building, we tried to change the room but we were told it was the only room available. When we asked why this room was more expensive than the others which were better, we were simply told by the receptionist that they had to sell all rooms! We were not able to sleep because of the noise of all guests arriving and leaving their rooms late at hight and at the early hours of the day; and because of the lights they kept on all night on that lightwell, as the exiting curtains on the window do not prevent the light from coming in. We had no privacy at all during the day, because if we opened the curtains all other guests could see the room clearly from the other windows on the lightwell. Avoid this hotel at all cost!

We loved this hotel. It is moments away from Plaza Mayor and a close walk to everything in the historic core of Salamanca. The staff was very helpful during our late-in-the-day arrival and throughout our stay. The room, like most European rooms, was a little tight, but well appointed with a very comfortable bed. We ended up with a room next to the elevator and with the exception of a couple of late-night returns was not really a problem. We could hear the TV of the room adjoining ours, but earplugs solved that issue. Overall the hotel is extremely convenient and very comfortable. It is a great value for the location and quality.

We stayed just one night at this beautiful hotel since we had no plans of staying longer in Salamanca. We got early in the morning and our room was already set for us (please take into consideration November is "low" season). The ladies at the reception were super super friendly. Maria and her colleague (unfortunately I do not remember her name) made us feel at home. They explained to us how to move around the city and everything about the hotel. That day they were painting the walls in our floor, so everything looked super white and pretty. Room: it was a small, cute and interesting room. It was like a studio mini apartment. On the upper part (just divided by 3 stairs) you could find the bed and the closet. On the down part, there was a desk, chair and the door to the bathroom. The bed was small (double bed) but extremly comfortable, we could rest like gods. The bathroom was small but that is something to be expected in European hotels located in the city center. Wasn´t noisy at all. Breakfast: European. Bread, cheese, ham, cereal, etc. Nothing special or bad to say about it. Everytthing clean and well organized. Location: super well located, just a couple steps away from the Plaza Mayor. The day we stayed was raining so that was a great help. We arrived at the bus station and took public transportation to the hotel. A bus stop is just around the corner. Super easy to find. If going back to Salamanca, we will definitely choose this hotel for our stay. Once again, a big thank you to the hotel, your staff was the best!!!!

Good clean hotel, lovely staff and position is ideal for exploring Salamanca. Only downside of hotel is its plumbing system which works brilliantly but is the noisiest I have heard, every rooms ablutions being audible, certainly in the room I was in. The main noise is out of the Hotels control. Situated on the market place just 50 meters away is a large bar with outside seating and the noise was ceaseless until 5 in the morning, certainly in my case making sleep difficult. Good hotel but if you need your sleep think twice abut staying here.

Our family is driving from Madrid thru Galicia, A Coruña, Asturias, the Basque Country and back to Madrid. First stop for the night was in Salamanca at the Ikonik. The hotel was excellent. Staff at front desk was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room was spacious. Both the room and bathroom were clean. The location was excellent next to the market and the plaza. The hotel was difficult to find. And the parking was very narrow but secure.

For our bookings for summer in Spain, I made all our family reservations flexible and refundable and was willing to pay higher day rates to do so. Because our Spain road trip required flexibility, this was our best option. When I accidentally mistakenly selected the non-refundable fare on Expedia, for the Hotel Ikonik Plaza Mercado, for a single nights booking, I called Expedia within five minutes of realizing my error. Expedia called the management of the Hotel Ikonik Plaza Mercado who had the option, according to Expedia, but were unwilling to release the booking and address the error, despite my call being within minutes of my mistaken booking. The fact that the management of the Ikonik Plaza Mercado declined to help a future guest who had made a honest mistake, instead opting to pocket a rather small one night room fee, tells me all I need to know about the Ikonik Plaza Mercado. This is not the way to treat customers and its one of the worst practices in the travel industry, in my opinion. Hotel customer are guests. Its unconscionable to make a business decision that to pocket $200 on a one night booking at the expense of treating a customer and her family with disregard, when it was entirely within their purview and according to Expedia within their options (to release the booking) tells me that this hotel cares little for customer experience. The Ikonik Plaza Mercado and their management isn't able to rely on customer loyalty or the quality of their lodgings for bookings, but instead is happy to pocket money based on a guest's honest error. In doing so, the management at the Ikonik Plaza Mercado is willing to engage in the worst the travel industry has to offer, to make a buck. Poor management, poor customer service experience and bottom drawer practices are in effect at the Ikonik Plaza Mercado. Shame on you!
