This is our second trip to Northern Spain and we knew we wanted to stay at the Landa Palace Hotel in Burgos again. The hotel is very pleasant and you do not need to navigate around Burgos to find it, for it is located right off the highway. The area offers warm days and cool nights with a nice consistent...

We were mesmerised by this beautiful place from the moment we arrived! Very friendly staff, our dinner experience was amazing at the main restaurant of the hotel, and the breakfast was simply exquisite! The staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements! They baked gluten free bread for my husband upon request, and they replaced the bacon...

This would be a great place to start (or finish) a holiday in Spain, on your way from (or to) the ferry at Santander. The location is just off a main road, but surprisingly quiet. It has been family-run for many years. The public rooms and bedrooms are beautifully furnished in traditional style (part of the building is an old...

Stayed there last night and found the hotel staff exceptionally helpful from the reception to the bar area where we had a superb tapas meal. The room was clean and comfortable with a large marble bathroom. The swimming pool was quite unusual as it had an inside and outside connected together. All in all could not fault anything.

Really nice stay.....and a place to return to. Hopefully we will be back. The pool was a nice break in the day, the food excellent and the interior gorgeous. We also found the staff helpful. Burgos city is worth spending some time in.

Second time staying so we knew the ropes. Hotel rooms are fantastic, tea / coffee facilities in room would have been lovely. We didn't have the continental breakfast which is far too expensive we had scrambled eggs with toast which I have to say was delicious. Staff as usual were very pleasant. Thank you

To summarise: (if you have time, you can read the feedback on our experience in full below) Great experience in these respects : Room (Suite) Pool Delightful scenic surroundings and Castle spender. Unfortunately let down this time by: Expensive restaurant considering the average quality Pretentious staff with an unwelcoming, almost judgmental attitude. This was my second stay at the castle,...

Loved the castle experience. Actually was moved from another site! Hotel is right next to the highway, which is a bit weird, but convenient. Have to drive into town, but it is easy. The room was large and lovely. Bathroom large and lovely. Evening staff pleasant. Only downsides were a rather weird very high luggage rack and lack of some...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The beginning of the Landa dates back to 1959. A little restaurant was opened 2 km outside Burgos where travellers used to refresh themselves on their journey along the road which, despite its faults, was then the main route linking the capital with the north of Spain. The commitment of the Landa family to the hotel business dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the "Real Club de Puerta de Hierro" in Madrid and "La Perla" in San Sebastian, and later with "La Gran Taberna", also in Madrid. The Landa started out during hard times for the Spanish hotel business in non urban areas; the hotel, its various extensions, the tower, the pool, the square... Were incorporated later on, little by little. ... more   less
