Booked H10 Tenerife Playa through Jet 2 for last minute break to visit relatives in Puerto de la Cruz. It was fantastic value for money but we were a little concerned by the 2020 reviews. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. Good check in, staff speak good English, despite us being the only brits in the hotel (mainly Spanish people, which suits us). Our package was for a double room on an all inclusive basis. We were given a room with a balcony overlooking the pools. The rooms have been refurbished and have a good size walk in shower and comfy beds. Good air con which is quiet enough so it doesn't disturb sleep. 2 pools which are kept beautifully clean and plenty of loungers and sunshades. An entertainment program runs most days with no pressure to join in various games and activities. Absolutely loved the aqua zumba which gave us a great deal to smile about. Food was exceptional given it is a buffet restaurant, I would put on a par with a good cruise ship with lots of variety. The restaurant has great views of the Martinez beach, ocean and the largo Martinez swimming complex, absolutely stunning. Good variety of drinks too in the all inclusive including brands such as tanquery and absolute. Cocktails and sangria were delicious. Only negative for us was evening entertainment, we are not keen on bingo or quizzes and the music was old fashioned. But as we come to tenerife regularly will definitely stay again

Hotel's Favourite
Although fewer hotel guests the staff were excellent, and the food was very varied with far more hygiene than in England carried out. The pool area was lovely, and our view of the sea from our balcony was spectacular. Watching the surfers on the huge waves was amazing. You could have any drink you wished with the all inclusive. Even cocktails which made it a reasonable priced holiday. I would highly recommend this hotel, and the position so near the shops. Our room was cleaned every day, and you can pay for a safe/fridge, and small deposit on beach towels .We did take our own kettle ,but you could hire one from reception..

The good thing about this hotel is location... The hotel is very old (still have gotele on the walls, carpets with weird huge spots etc). The bathroom was also old.. No fridge on the room, zero power hair dryer, ancient furniture. Staff at the reception was not in compliance with modern standards for hospitality. The "All inclusive" drinks/cocktails at the swimming pool bar taste worse than a poison, were absolutely DISGUSTING, can't even call them "cocktails". The food quality at breakfast was pretty low (spoilt juice, powder coffee from the machine, no fresh orange juice etc), even thought the variety of dishes was big.

The double room is quite small. The balcony cannot even be called a balcony; 2 small chairs and a mini table and the place is full. You have no privacy at all, since you can directly see your neighbors! In the room the only thing that is new is the floor and the bed. The cupboard and the bathroom are old. You have to even pay for the safe separately! I also had to change rooms, because the first one was smelling heavily of smoke. The food was horrible. There is no choice at all for vegetarians; every evening overcooked boiled vegetables and mashed potatoes. That‘s it. I asked for gnocchis without gambas (which was on the buffet that night)- what I got was gnocchis without any sauce - just out of the hot water!!! What kind of service is this!!! The buffet is mass production with overcooked and unapetizing food. Not worth any money at all. In the morning, you don‘t even get omelettes every day. It depends on what the cook presents (one day omelettes, one day pan cakes...) You get offered fruit from the can in masses and then some water melon, grapes and melon. That‘s it what they understand under fresh fruit. Every day the same! The pool area is not inviting at all either. You look at a hotel building that is old and definitely needs renovation. This hotel is overpriced and compared to other hotels not worth the money. I will definitely not be back!

Hotel full of older guests, pools were cold not heated, the hotel is more like a 3 star than a 4. Sauna never turned on unless pre booked. Entertainment only for older not for young couples on honeymoons or holidays.
