We booked this on Booking.com after our evening flight was cancelled. We had a lovely welcome and Alberto went out of his way to help us as much as he could. We didn’t stay long but really appreciated the oasis of calm.

This hote is a bit of an enigma. The facilites are good, rooms comfortable, but it's very small - only 17 rooms and only 5 occupied when we were there in October, so very very quiet. Location is on a residential estate, so a very long walk to get anywhere. We hired a car as soon as we arrived; it's essential here. The staff were great, very friendly and mostly competent. But the food is another story. We were half board, which was a huge mistake. Breakfasts were fine (unless you order the omelette, which was very poor). As for dinner, the best you can say is that some dishes are average, but most meals were poor, some were inedible. The chefs seem to have little idea what they are doing. The dinner menus were also extremly limited, one meat dish, one fish dish, very limited desserts. How this hotel can advertise itself on the basis of its food beats me. There's not even a restaurant within walking distance. If you want a holiday with decent food, go to a different hotel and avoid disappointment - you have been warned!

We researched Hotel Villa Vik thoroughly and had the relaxed and peaceful week we envisaged. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable with clean towels and linen every day. Room 102 on the ground floor suited us perfectly as it had no rooms above it. We travel extensively and to find this charming hotel with waiter service and staff that know you personally and who care was a real bonus. Belfa, David, Alberto and Blas looked after us with courtesy and a smile. The food was imaginative and well presented.. breakfasts were superb( Thank you to the chefs) Any minor problems were quickly addressed and sorted. The hotel is not situated near any bars or restaurants but a 30 minute stroll to Arrecife along the promenade will put you near the action. Similarly a longer walk to to the right will take you past the end of the airport runway( stopping off at Playa Honda for beer and Olives) and then on to Matagorda for lunch... a taxi back was 8 euros. If you want pool activities and entertainment this is not the hotel for you. We read the label and were extremely satisfied. Thank you everyone at Villa Vik. We will be back.
