We ran in from a rain shower into this lovely restaurant for lunch. What a fab find! My husband had the menu of the day for 10 euros. Great value, simple food, well made. Very charismatic waiter who looked after us during our visit. Cosy surroundings which felt authentic and well thought out. Would definitely go back if we visited...

Love this place for lunch. You MUST have the menu of the day. Excellent value and great food. This place is very popular with locals so that is a great sign. Every time we go to Las Palmas we end up here for lunch and it never disappoints. Be brave! Have the menu of the day

I loved this hotel! I stayed for three nights and started to feel as if I lived there. It is not, however, for the faint of heart, and was described by the (former) owner - the hotel having changed hands two weeks prior to my arrival - as an "anti-hotel; a hotel for tourists who don't like hotels" .. And...

They have a 3 course 10€ menu, which I decided to go for- I had a pork and bean starter, which was nice but my main course was very disappointing! I chose a rice dish which turned out to be rice, bland tomato sauce, 2 sunny side up eggs, chips and boiled plantain. It looked a mess and didn't taste...

Simple choices for starters - soup, courgettes, Spanish salad, then mains - the ubiquitous paella, hake, veal stew, or chicken quesadillas and a vegetarian choice. Ran out of pudding, but other opopns appeared.

If you want to go back in time for a few days, this is a beautiful place to do it! In the middle of the old town, next to the Gabinete Literario and very close to the Cathedral and several theatres. A must for the romantic traveller!

This review is not about the hotel itself, but about the restaurant and terrace of the hotel. My workmates organized a lunch at the Hotel Madrid, and everything was really fine. The place itself is old, but it has character, and a bit of history. And nice architecture. If you are going to spend time in Las Palmas you should...

We had previously come to this hotel for lunch which has always been excellent. So on a recent trip to Gran Canaria we decided to stay overnight in Las Palmas and then catch the bus to Puerto Rico in the morning and that is how we ending up staying in Hotel Madrid. The room was basic but very clean and...

I love this place, so glad I found it. It's full of character and oozes history. A real retreat from the touristy places. The staff are as full of character and charm as the hotel is. One of the most interesting and pleasant hotels I think I have stayed in. If your looking for standard hotel luxury it may not...

As a fan of all things vintage, I was pleased with Hotel Madrid. The staff were friendly and real characters, very helpful and very, very busy. There was not hot water 24/7, and this is not the place if you're into the slick, modern and high-tech. But places like this are hard to find -- relish it while it lasts....
