Booked two rooms here in March as part of a trip around Basque and Rioja. Originally booked the hotel for three nights, but then had to fly home early and asked to change to one night with over 24 hours notice. They refused and I had to get my booking agent involved (who thankfully sorted it). We booked a superior room with an orange window. Gave the whole view of the river a strange orange hue, along with everything else in the room. Could not get cool air in the room, only hot. Beds were really comfortable and the location is good for the 'newer' parts of the city (inc. Guggenheim), but it's a bit of a walk from the older parts of town and the main shopping/eating areas. Sleep was ruined by 'banging' noises throughout the night - it was a breezy night and I think a window had been left open by the lifts. Would not stay again.…
You will enjoy the nice colors of the windows and everything is nice and comfortable. Especially you can have a nice view of the river and across to the famous museum architecture which is very nice to see.
Hotel is in a great location. It is about 29 minute walk from old town and about 5-10 minutes to new town over the Zubizuri bridge. The Guggenheim is also about 10 minutes walk. Rooms are clean and we had a blue window room over looking the river. The thermostat was not working well on the cool position but we were able to open the doors. Breakfast was okay. Coffee machine only have smaller cups European style. Overall a great stay.
This hotel is amazingly situated for the Old Town and Guggenheim and walkable to the newer parts of town too. The staff were friendly, helpful and the accommodation was good value for the cost we paid. The rooms were clean and comfortable - the beds in particular were super comfortable! Breakfast was included in our package and this was the only let down in all honesty. The buffet (hot stuff) was a little on the low side and the tea was lukewarm. However, I did enjoy myself stay otherwise and would stay here again if I was coming to Bilbao.
Spent 3 nights at recently reopened Hesperia and enjoyed the whole experience. Warm welcome from the staff, especially Maria on reception who offered help and advice throughout our stay. Lovely spacious river view room on 7th floor. Hotel in quiet location very close to Gugenheim. Thanks to all at Hotel.
We recently spent 3 nights at the Hesperia and couldn’t have found a better place to stay while visiting Bilbao. We were given a room on the Fifth floor with a side view of the river. It was spacious with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. The hotel is situated nearly opposite the Guggenheim and also nearly opposite the foot bridge which takes you to the town centre with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. Everything is in walking distance including the old town and walking by the river is very pleasant . We took the breakfast at the hotel and the choice and taste of food was amazing . The staff at the reception desk was very helpful . There is also a bar downstairs with very comfortable armchairs to relax after a busy day walking! The WiFi is excellent. If we came back to Bilbao we would certainly choose this hotel again .…
We have loved our stay at the Hesperia Bilbao. Excellent service and great breakfast, with the food being excellent. Our room had the best views of the river, boulevard and Guggenheim. We were able to walk to all our activities.
The restaurant is top quality, the service amazing, and an attention to detail that is beyond impressive. Very much worth staying here as it is super close to the Guggenheim and other major attractions.
We chose the junior suite room with the river view. We absolutely adore the room. The interior is well maintained and contemporary. The room was very clean and well stocked with accessories to make your stay more comfortable. Even though it rained during our stay, the view of the river and surrounding neighborhood was nice. I will definitely recommend this unit to my fellow traveling friends! The staff is nice and friendly. The night receptionist with the long hair and wears glasses was extremely welcoming. Sorry, I forgot her name. I think it starts with a L. However, she encouraged me to practice speaking Spanish with her. 😁 The only thing I did not like was the stuffed peppers with cod dish. That was not good. However, the breakfast and drinks were great! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Hesperia Bilboa hotel!…
Conveniently located (near the Guggenheim) and with nice walking paths along the river. Breakfast was excellent. The view from the room was nonexistent. Tour operators pick up from the hotel and it is convenient to get to and from the airport.
