This was great value considering that accommodation is expensive in this region. It is very close to the main bus station when arriving to Bilbao although it is an uphill walk. You'll be happy about this if you having some evening drinks outside here as this is a great view of the city. Breakfast is simple but an added bonus for the price. It includes orange juice, bread and rolls which can be toasted, jams, pastries and cakes. The staff are really helpful and friendly too.

Lovely reception on arrival big space very clean. Then we got to our room. As basic as it gets and very uncomfortable in such close quarters with other hostel stayers. The 'free' breakfast was horrific, I'd rather not eat at all than eat it (I ate this breakfast the first day then never again). Location wasn't good but luckily the bus stop was super close. Not worth staying here, or just stay here and don't eat the breakfast - easy fix I guess

Stpped a couple of nights in their motorhome park. Just €7.50 pppn so good value. For this you can use the facilities including showers. It also includes breakfast. Our advice is don't bother with the breakfast, cheap ingredients etc. But at the price really not a problem. The motorhome parking is pretty good inclusing electric but there's no facility for waste etc. You can get water from near the reception. Happily there's an almost new Aire the other side of town, on teh way to theairport with all services for free.

Maybe, just maybe, if you are 1) young and adventurous and don't really care where you stay; 2) travelling with all your family and want to save money in a shared room, the hostel will do nicely. For one night out of a long trip, it's overpriced, too far away from the city centre, and so much reduced to the bare minimum that you may get depressed. Some windows have a great view over an industrial area, though, so if you're into a steampunk aesthetic that might be the right choice.

This is by no means a hostel, rather it is some sort of communal hotel and overpriced at that. There is no hostel atmosphere, nor is it encouraged in any way. The staff do not tell you anything about the city unless you specifically ask, and even then most of what we were told regarding where to find restaurants and shops, for example, was incorrect. WiFi is theoretically provided only on the ground and 1st floor (of a 6 story building!), but it actually worked only in one spot by the main door. Most of the WC's did not have working locks. We were given only 1 key card for 2 people, so that meant we could only enter together and had to take turns showering, so one of us wouldn't get stuck sitting in the hallway. There was only one electricity socket in our 4 bed dorm room, which meant that only the first person to arrive got a chance to charge their phone; we were not informed about any other charging stations. The breakfast, which is included in the price (and served for only one hour), was the worst I have ever seen - for people like us who like to eat up at breakfast to enjoy a long day of sightseeing this was a huge disappointment. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Bilbao, but we absolutely hated our accommodation. I do not recommend at all!

Bugs all over us at night, got in everything, bit us, absolutely terrible. Do not stay here!!!! Obvious infestation, marks on the walls and baseboard and sheets. We were remiss not to check, but we arrived very late. but the managers are criminal to tolerate such infestation. SHAME I have never seen anything like it. It is being transmitted to houses, vehicles, next hotel of guests. Ruined our weekend trip to Bilbao as my husband spent an entire day washing and drying everything before we left and still we will have to do more before returning home. Not only time and hassle but financial cost as some items now need to be replaced. We stayed here a couple of years ago fairly happily but now it is in bad shape. At least the staff let us use the laundry .

Staff was friendly and helpful, place was clean and quiet, and the from our room we had a great view of the city. My key card stopped working at around 11pm and the staff fixed it right away (even tough it took 2 attempts). Wifi works only on the ground and first floors, when you stay in the 5th floor it can be rather annoying. Location isn't amazing, about 45 minutes walk from city center or taking a bus that arrives every 30 minutes.

This is more like a student housing than a hostel or hotel. At the time we were there it acted as a summer school for varius groups of teens from all over Europe. They were a bit noisy, but other than that this is no problem at all. They serve a simple, high school cafeteria style breakfast - but still nice and get the job done. We booked a mixed dorm but got a double bed room and was super happy about it. The facilities are nice, new and very clean. It's a bit far from the city centre and the old town, but there is a bus running just outside the camp area. Good value for money!

Although the Albergue Aterpetxea is a bit of a hike from the central city, it's still only about 20 minutes away from everything you'll want to see, including the beautiful Guggenheim Museum. The best part is that it overlooks the entire city, including the river. It's a ten-minute walk from the bus station, if you want to do a day-trip to San Sebastian, Santander, or another beach town close by. The service is wonderful and the breakfast includes great snacks!
