The location of the Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia is extremely central: only 500m away from the Guggenheim, the main shopping street, el Corte Ingles, the restaurants and tapas bars. It is for real the best located hotel downtown Bilbao.

We are currently under refurbishment, and we are careful not to discomfort our guests and never work early morning, late nights. We hope to be finished by March 2016. However we already have our newly refurbished rooms at the guest's disposal.

Please feel free to contact us for any information. Best regards, The team

Hotel's Favourite
This wonderful hotel cannot be faulted. We had a huge modern privilege room on the 7th floor. Standard rooms also big. Only fault is not enough storage room- drawers etc. Spacious bathroom with large bathtub and hood range of amenities. excellent controllable air conditioning; good black out and noise insulation. Perfect location close to old town, commercial district and Guggenheim. Nice bar area on street level. Spa and gym with a couple of fixed bikes- nit much used fortunately for me.! Great staff.

This hotel is in a great location; it is easy to get to from the airport bus stop, not far from the old town, not far from the shops. A really good location. The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff were always pleasant and helpful, the price was good and the bar quite reasonable for a hotel. I even liked the breakfast which I don't normally go in for. My only criticism is the temperature of the room. The room was extremely warm - it must have been 30C. There was no obvious heater either, other than the towel rail in the bathroom and that was not the culprit. Although being able to turn off the towel rail would have been nice. The aircon must need recharging as it only blew the warm air around even set on its coldest setting. We had the window open as often as possible but as it opened to a terraced or tiled roof area it did not feel very safe to leave the window open whilst we slept. I could have imagined it getting hot on blazingly sunny days but even on cold and overcast days it was too hot. If they sort the room temperature out I would go again.

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 6 nights on a quick trip to Bilbao for work. I will admit, this is my first time at a Mercure brand hotel, so had little to no expectations. Well, if this is the judging stick, then I will definitely select Mercure hotels in the future. From check-in, the staff were super pleasant and very helpful. One of my colleagues lost their luggage and one of the front desk attendants helped him to find somewhere that was open (on a Sunday) to get some things. All other aspects of check-in were a breeze. The lobby is quaint, with multiple seating areas and a bar. I stayed on the 5th floor by the elevator, but I could hardly hear people using it. The room had a comfortable bed, nice sized shower and was overall just comfortable. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, but was quickly supplied upon request. Location..., the hotel is located perfectly. It is in walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants/tapas bars, a park, shopping of all kinds, the river, Guggenheim museum, you name it. However, it must be said, that from Thursday onwards, there are multiple clubs in the direct vicinity of the hotel, so be prepared for crowds and possible noise. Nevertheless, if and when I am back in Bilbao for work or personal reasons, I will definitely check if this hotel has availability. One problem, if I have to list one, the parking garage is super tiny and gave every driver serious angst to park the car. But, it is directly connected to the hotel, so we made it work.

The Mercure has a certain nice charme with its Art Deco interior style. Our room was spacious and comfortable. A great asset is the underground parking with an elevator leading directly to the lobby and other floors. Breakfast buffet was great with a good variety of fresh f&b. All staff had been super friendly and helpful. The location is great, just about between the Gaudi and old centre, each approx. 10 min walking distance. Overall a good choice for a stay and I certainly recommend the hotel.

Great location, near the Guggenheim, shops, restaurants, etc. The actual hotel was a pretty standard basic hotel, nothing special about the room or service. No one there to help with luggage, no concierge, no valet, and at most 3 or 4 staff working the lobby and bar. The rooms were contemporary, cheap ikea type flimsy furniture. The lone service highlight was the bartender who did a great job keeping our glasses full with great wine.

What a great hotel. It is perfectly located in the city centre, just between the Guggenheim Museum and Casco Viejo. You'll be in a short walking distance from all sights and 2min away from the boat station from where you can go for a river tour to Portugalete. Choose if you can room 701 for lovely views. And, for whatever you need there is a solution: I have rarely seen such a committed general manager as Sito Pons - be it in sharing the work with his colleagues or going above and beyond to make you feel super comfortable. Chapeau!

Stayed 1 night while walking the Camino Norte. The Personal was always very friendly and helpful, the restaurant and bar had good value (for hotels), The room was spacious and well equipped, but the best thing was definitely the spa area, a multi stage experience that took care of my aching body (1.5 hrs for 15 Euros that’s 50% off for guests). What a treat!
