Super welcoming and perfect for making the best of all Bilbao has to offer. We were welcomed by Fatima who immediately made us feel at home, we had an informative chat before we were efficiently checked in and pointed towards our room. The hotel is beautifully styled and full of quaint features, I especially loved the exposed walls on the staircase. It’s an old building so slightly creaky but our room was very modern and clean. We were lucky to have a balcony, this did make the room a little noisy. This might be uncomfortable for some visitors but we liked hearing the city going about it’s business. Location wise the hotel is in a perfect spot. Fatima gave us lots of advice on travel and where to go and we were confidently exploring in no time. We’d absolutely love to stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.…
I will start with the good bits. Great location. Breakfast was very good with a large variety and attentive staff. Reception staff always available and were friendly and helpful. Room maids did a great job. The en-suite to the room was nice looked like it had been refitted recently. The bed was very comfortable. Now the bad bits. The room was very noisy with noise from inside and outside of the hotel. The room had a laminate floor, if fitted with carpet this would have helped to solve the problem. The furniture in the room was tired and damaged. The wardrobe when new would have had sliding doors but they had been removed. Their penny pinching in the rooms is letting down the Hotel and the staff who do their jobs so well.
A nicely reserved hotel in an authentic old building. Basic room but nice and clean , nice bathroom a very kind service. Thanks for Stephanie for a grate breakfast, thanks for Bibiana and Fatima from the reception we had a grate time.
We chose the hotel for its location near the old part of Bilbao. We were also not far from the indoor market and the Guggenheim was an easy tram ride away . The room was spacious and functional, but could do with updating and perhaps have a kettle to make a cup of tea/coffee (although you can make complimentary tea/coffee in the hotel lobby). We understand it's a very old building, which is part of the charm, however the gap under/above door to our room was large. Apart from noise entering the room when people came past/housekeeping doing their job, it surely is also a fire hazard that you cannot create a seal around the door in case of a fire/smoke?! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was modern and well fitted out. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were even told the hotel's history, which was interesting. Breakfast is of a good standard with a variety of choices.…
Perfect location in the heart of the old town, close to all the sights, bars and restaurants, the service was excellent from the hotel receptionists. I will definitely stay on my next visit to the city.
