A beautiful building with character. Clean and pleasant. An air conditioning unit was brought up to the room because of the heat. There was a power cut on one occasion due to the electrics but I would stay here again.

So disappointed in this hotel, rude, unhelpful staff that actually said they "dont get many foreigners that speak English" the bar didn't stay open after 9pm....absolutely weird for a so-called 5 star hotel, the general upkeep of the hotel was appalling with all the door frames and corridors battered and bruised from years of neglect....my advice..dont stay here

For a Sunday night, this was an excellent choice. In the city center and not far from the Guggenheim Museum, the Hotel Lopez de Haro offered all the comfort and elegance we could have wanted. The staff were all very helpful and attentive, the rooms were not overly large but still comfortable with nicely appointed bathrooms and good beds. The only disappointment was the dining room was closed which left us trying to find a decent restaurant that didn't have soccer blaring on the big screen over the bar. We wound up at the tapas bar across the street which was a fun experience with good food and nice wines. The breakfast offered at the hotel the next morning was really good and stoked us up for the day's travels. For a city center hotel, you can't go wrong choosing Hotel Lopez de Haro. …

We stayed at Hotel Lopez de Haro while on a Rick Steves tour recently. We had a nice medium-large room. There was a Krops coffee maker in the room. Our bathroom had large double sinks, with a large shower in the bathtub. No wash clothes were provided. Our bed was the standard European side-by-side twin beds The hotel was about a 10-minute walk to the fantastic Guggenheim Museum and just a short walk to the river walk where there is a beautiful cable-stay bridge over the river. The AC unit in our hotel was not functional; however the hotel quickly provided us with an external vented unit which worked fine. The breakfast buffet was very expansive. As seen in the room photo bathrobes were provided for our use.

The hotel is bang in the centre of Bilbao - a bit of a challenge with one way streets but we managed with the help of the smartphone (5.30 doesn't seem to be rush hour in Bilbao at least!) The staff were very obliging and there is very secure parking ; it is €20 a night but probably cheaper than on street parking. Interesting breakfast offers ... €19 (!) for a buffet breakfast which did look nice but also €2.95 for coffee and a pastry and €4,95 for something similar. I didn't have any problems with air conditioning but did find that there should be more sockets;preferably beside the beds.
