Stayed here over the weekend. Superior rooms worth the extra cost. Very clean, everything you need in the room. We had never been before and would prefer to be near to the old town, but it is only 15 mins walk or 6 euros by taxi. A number of bars and very nice restaurants nearby. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and so nice. We all said we'd stay here again (but are getting older lol).

A great hotel in a good location. A warm welcome by the receptionist who is a font of knowledge. The hotel is clean and well equipped. The beds are super comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Despite being in a busy road we could not hear anything as the room was insulated. We visited the restaurants he recommended and were not disappointed. We will certainly be back to explore Bilbao more.

It's very good value, and it is ideally situated for the Guggenheim museum - and indeed for any general exploration of Bilbau. We stayed two nights, and I would definitely recommend this place. Good coffee too from the pod machine (you buy the pods from reception, and there is a good range).

The location is great. It's less than 10 minutes walk to the Guggenheim museum and the airport bus stops directly outside. Within 5 minutes walk of the hotel are 4 small supermarkets one which stays open till 1.00am and at a guess 4/5 bars and 6/7 restaurants, including an excellent gluten free one. There must be 50/60 other bars and restaurants within a 20 minute walk. The main station is less than 15 minutes walk away. The staff we met spoke English and checking into our pre booked room only took a couple of minutes. We had a room facing the main street below and the double glazing cut out all the noise making the room quite quiet. The room also had good air conditioning. The room was really clean. And the bed was vast and very comfortable. 2 chairs and a desk in the room, a fridge (not minibar) and a spacious ensuite toilet/shower. The metro and tram are about 10/12 minutes away but unless you are planning to leave the city, everywhere including the old town is within about half an hour's walk, however there are so many interesting things to see it may take a little longer. The room key operates the front door when it is closed. There is a small lounge, with drinks available. Pretty certain there is no food served on site but we always get breakfast out of the hotel anyway. If we come back to Bilbao we will stay here again.

Very clean, contemporary room with good facilities including tea/coffee, digital safe and mini fridge. Comfortable beds and good (and clean) bathroom. Daily housekeeping was faultless. No restaurant or bar - just great rooms at great prices. The location is excellent - just a couple of minutes walk to the Guggenheim and the river. Late night supermarkets and a mini market are all close by. The airport bus service (3 Euro and every 20 mins until late at night) stops RIGHT outside the door so you cant go wrong. The reception staff are just amazing and could not be more helpful or friendly. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Really great little place, if you are ok with Room only. (There are a great many places nearby to eat and drink - plus a mini market on the corner and a supermarket nearby) Fantastic location on all transport routes and a 5 minute walk from The Guggenheim. Great room with everything you need - we prefer simple and modern places and that’s what we got. Spotlessly clean and a super comfy bed. The only small downsides were 1) poor water pressure in the shower (and some weird plumbing noises!) and 2) the roads are very busy and noisy. Double glazing is good, but as a light sleeper I needed my earplugs - my fiancé found it fine. All in all, fantastic value and really lovely staff who speak good English, if that’s something you’d find helpful. Top tip - try the Charmelo Pasteliera on the next block south - outstanding hand-made pastries and great tea & coffee. Avoid the massively overpriced hipster place ‘Arvo’ if you don’t want to leave hungry…

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in August. We found the gentleman on the desk very welcoming and was happy to give guidance on the local area. The location was perfect. It was very clean and the corridors smelt so good (fresh linen). We were also very grateful for AC! We would definitely stay here again.

Situated a short walk from Guggenheim & Metro. Easy access to most places in Bilbao. Make use of Metro, bus & tram as very cheap. Hotel very clean & rooms serviced daily. Ander & William on reception very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. One drawback is the noise from the toilet & waste water being pumped away but that wouldn't stop me from staying again. Tea & coffee making facilities in room. No toiletries other than shower gel & shampoo. Room nice size with twin beds which were comfortable & not too hard pillows. Room safe & fridge included. Arrived on last day of the festival which was good. Might come again for more of it next time.

We booked this hotel based on all of the rave reviews on Trip Advisors. After going there, I have a hard time believing anyone could rate this place 4 or 5 stars. I'd stretch to give it two but for the hotel's response to our concerns. The Pros: The location could not be better - 2 blocks from the Guggenheim and just 1km from old town. The rooms were clean and a decent size. The person at the desk was very nice. The hotel offered parking a couple of blocks away for 18 euros a night, which was less than most other places by about 5 euros. Cons: First and foremost, we did not feel safe here, especially with kids. The hotel is behind a bus stop, so the entrance is concealed from view. It's between two sketchy businesses and there were some people hanging around that made us uncomfortable. There is a doorman during the day, but not at night. Access after hours is with the single key you are given that also opens the main door. The hotel is quite small -only one floor with maybe 15 - 20 rooms. If you lost the key and someone knew it was from the hotel, it would be easy to get in and then try all the rooms until you found the one that you had the key for. You would know that the person whose room it was would not come in while you were doing this because you would have the only key to the front door and the room, so they would be locked out. We were told that our rooms were together, but our kids' room was right in front of the elevator and stairs and also in a separate key-access alcove with another room (not ours). Our room was down the hall in an area where the lights turned off unless you walked down that hall. There is no help with anything-- The desk attendant checks you in and then you are on your own. Since the hotel is behind a bus stop, if you need to unload a car, as we did, there is nowhere to pull over to drop your things off. We tried pulling in for a second to grab our suitcases and a bus immediately started honking at us. This is more a hostel than a hotel. I maybe would have stayed here if we didn't have kids. I would not stay here if I was a female traveling alone or with another woman - I barely would have felt safe with my husband given the key situation with no security at night. We turned around and left and found a different hotel a couple of blocks away that had 24-hour security. I'm not someone who is alarmist about safety. I lived in New York City for 20 years, in buildings with no doorman. I traveled on my own many times. There is a way to make a place safe without having 24-hour help at the desk. We booked through AmEx and the hotel was advertised as having a doorman. It said nothing about that doorman leaving after 11 pm.. We asked to have our money refunded based on the fact that we didn't feel safe and that the room and security situation was misrepresented. The hotel refused to refund our money. AmEx gave us a travel credit to compensate us. I will never stay in a Pillow hotel again.

A very small hotel with clean, basic accommodation conveniently situated within 5 minutes’ walk from the Guggenheim museum with a bus stop right in front of the hotel; Friendly, helpful check-in where we received lots of information. 24-hour reception desk and they arranged our very early airport pick-up for us. Fairly large room. No breakfast served (water and also coffee capsules – not free – available in the communal lounge (Kettle in the room but coffee first day only and was never replaced). Enough cafes in the area to get breakfast. Not the best bed on our trip (one bed on wheels which kept sliding away from the other bed). However, good hotel for a short city break as lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
