Spent a few nights here in late April/Early May 2022. Good: 1) Communication. Answered emails pretrip promptly. When my fight out of the US was cancelled day off, let them knew so as not to lose the res, and they responded promptly. 2) Nice staff, English speaking. 3) As noted, clean rooms. 4) As noted often, great location! Also easy to get to intermodal bus stop. A few minutes to the tram, and the bus stop is more or less across the street from tram stop. 5) Breakfast. Yea, it's the standard, but it was inexpensive compared to other hotel breakfasts (8 Euro). Considering a couple of coffees and a croissant is going to run you 5 or so at a cafe, this is only a bit more with all the coffee you want, plus the meats and cheese, juice, a variety of breads, yogurt, cereal. Many hotels will charge 16 or more for this. 6) You can open the windows. Think about 1) We had a river-facing view, which is nice. But this is a south exposure, and even in the mild spring temperatures, the room heated up during the day. The street is a bit noisy, but the soundproofing was pretty good with windows closed. But it may bother some.…
I had a very enjoyable three night stay in Bilbao Plaza recently. It's a very well located place facing the river and just next to the Town Hall. The Guggenheim is about a 10 minute walk along the river to the right as yiu leave, The Casco Viejo old town is about 5 or 6 minutes along the river to the left. The shopping district is about 5 minutes in the other side of the river. The room was spotless and modern and I found the hotel very, very quiet at night when it came to sleeping. There's a TV abd desk and the room was quite spacious. Bathroom was tiny, poky, but clean. Breakfast was very basic. Just breads, cold meat, fruit and hot drinks but no hot food. I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful both in correspondence before my arrival and general advice and good cheer while I was there. Good value too to be fair and the airport shuttle stop was only about a ten minute walk away. So it's a basic hotel, but clean, friendly, secure and well located. I'd be happy to recommend.…
This hotel was modern and clean in a great location. BUT the shower was smarter than me (or for folks without perfect eyesight). It was so hard to modify the temperature or figure out which showerhead (or tub) water would be coming out of. Which made it dangerous as the water was hot. Fortunately I didn't scald myself, but that was more luck. Once I had glasses on, I saw how to control the water. no idea why one side is red and one blue (usually indicative of temperatures), when the temperature control was all on the red side and where the water flowed was the blue side. Shower #2 was much better. i'd stay here again. But some disclaimer on showers would be useful. nice and quiet.
Stayed here for4 nights ,good location rooms clean great shower. Breakfast basic . We had the pleasure of Jonathan for 2 nights who was on the night shift. Very informative young man on the history of Bilbao and places to visit and a smile and personality to match. Bilbao a wonderful city
I went in 2017 and had a nice visit. Their WhatsApp thing wasn’t so good, never answered. But everything was fine. I enjoyed ordered in food at their tables. The stay was in December and they had nice decorations. Was a nice one night stay. I would recommend.
