My wife and I stayed there for five days in Oct 2018 and truly enjoyed this newly renovated and modern appartment. There are 3 appt available and the one we had was the smallest, all in length but still well suited for 2 to 4 people. Everything is modern and very effective except maybe the power that is kind of fragile when 2 or 3 appt do cooking at the same time. Please note that the main breaker is in the common room below the Wifi box. The appt is located in the old City, so very convenient to get to great restaurants as well as a 3 minute walk to the Bilbao Central Train Station. Note however that this sector can be rock'n'roll at night, so we stayed away from the San Francisco street as much as possible. Our favorite grocery store was the Lidl right across from the railway tracks 8 minutes walk from the appt. Sylvia helped us out as a co-owner but her english is limited.…
We stayed three nights in these apartments, on a recent trip to Bilbao. We chose the one bedroom apartment, as we like a lot of space. The apartment is simply stunning. They are in an old building, in a down town location, but the inside apartment is completely modern & new. We were greeted by the Manager, Silvia and we immediately felt very welcome. The ladies go through all of the details of the apartment and there was a welcome pack of croissants, small cakes and a bottle of wine! The demonstration of the coffee machine is very funny, I will not spoil it for you. The beds are very comfy and the furniture is all very clean and well cared for. There is everything you will need, plates, dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, pots and pans, a good sized fridge and a clothes washing machine. There is a flat screen tv and the shower is a walk in, I loved it. Everything is ultra modern and there is a very good heating system in the apartment, if you arrive before summer. Silvia, the manager is there every day and is always very helpful. We had some very nice conversations with Silvia, although our Spanish language is not very good - Google translate is a good help. At night time, the building is very quiet and you are guaranteed a good night's sleep. A quick walk to the bottom of the hill and go across the bridge, turn right, to the Ribera Market for some lunch. Then cross over the street from Ribera and walk another 1 minute, to the supermarket, to stock up on food. I cannot praise all of the staff at Baps Apartments highly enough, every query was answered quickly by email, from Serafin, before we travelled. Then when we got there, Silvia and Carmen and Julien were so very helpful. Sincere thanks to you all for a very memorable stay and we would like to return another time and explore more of this lovely city. Muchas gracias, we have some very happy memories of our stay here.…
The owner was delightful and couldn't do enough to help us. We had two motorbikes and it was hard to stop to unload as this apartment block is on a narrow steep hill facing with one way facing down and quite busy traffic (point to note) and the car park for the bikes is down the hill and round the corner (although fine - this all just required some organisation). I'd recommend going to the bottom of the road and stopping on the flat there - walking back up as the angle is all wrong to park the bike unless you can jam the front wheel up against one of the bollards - and then of course you have to push it up the hill to get going again as the parking is busy too. That said, it's in a really trendy and up coming area - looks a little dowdy but there's nothing to worry about. You walk down the hill over the bridge and you're at the wonderfully restored market place and right into the old town. The apartment we had was small but very well kitted out and we even had a bottle of wine and some breakfast stuff left for us (unusual for apartments). There is even an apartment iPad so you can look up things to do etc. Really above and beyond the call of duty to my mind - so all in all it was great. Thank you!…
