Not really sure how they are working out the star system in Spain but this isn't 4* standard. It's an old hotel and in the room the door fell off the the mini bar, shower squirts all over the bathroom, toilet constantly flushes. I contacted the hotel in advance to Che k all services were open due to covid 19 and were advised they were. Arrived and bar closed, restaurant closed! Staff great on reception though and great location

Excellent location, ultra clean and super efficient, friendly and helpful staff. Good sized room too...although the central heating was far too hot...and this was in December! The only thing that would make consider staying somewhere else next time was that throughout our stay there was an continuous awful smell (toilets/drains?) emanating from the lower ground floor which managed to pervade the hotel stairwell right up to the third floor! No explanation was offered for this by the staff? Inside the room it was ok but we abandoned using the lift as the small was worse there! Very strange indeed!

This hotel largelly fulfilled all our expectations! In an excellent location, very convenient and comfortable parking in the same building, extremely nice staff, rooms have a good size and VERY tasteful ilumination and colors. Very good bathroom, Great location, next to the old city and the modern shopping street.

My partner and I spent a night at the Gran Hotel and I couldn’t have spent another night there. The thermostat in the room didn’t appear to be working and when we asked in reception how it worked, we were told that neither the heating nor air conditioning was working in the entire place. Our room had no windows that opened and absolutely no ventilation - something which I think is absolutely unacceptable. We were offered to change rooms so that we could ‘at least open a window if we were too hot’. I really wasn’t pleased with how the situation was dealt with and I struggle to understand why some rooms would be left without adequate ventilation.

Great size rooms, but request a room that looks out on the street and not into the very small court yard (if you can call it that) our first night was spent in room 101 and it forever felt like night, it gets no light at all. We were moved into a lovely room next door which looked outwards and it made the difference. Rooms are spacious and modern. The hotel is in a fantastic location for Oviedo and was very reasonably priced. I’d miss the breakfast we only went once and the continental is just boxes of cereal and orange juice we decided to pay extra for the buffet. Wasn’t a bad choice though I’d call it a normal continental and the small offering of hot food was stone cold and had been left out for some time. Though this wouldn’t put us off staying there again as it is in such a great location
