One of the worst hotels we have stayed in. The food isn't even 2 star. Our dinner was obviously done on the cheap, a piece of raw fruit was our desert. Breakfast so basic, no cereal choice. Badly designed bedroom with low sloping ceiling, watch your head. Nothing stays on the sink in the bathroom as it slopes down. Only one chair in double bedroom, don't be fooled by the flat screen TV, no English speaking programmes. No stars for this hotel.

We arrived very very late but were still met with efficient friendliness. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. An excellent breakfast beautifully presented. The hotel was tastefully appointed and with many facilities - restaurant spa etc. extremely well priced too.

Fine hotel some miles away from Gijón City Centre. The place has wellness premises whose use is not comprised in room price. Adjacent to the hotel is a public golf course. Fine complete breakfast. Correct rooms.

Arrived with 86 year old mother & 89 year old father - both needing good access (requested)- mother sadly feeling unwell on journey 3 receptionists entirely disinterested No real welcome nor offer of luggage help , no meal times spa times nothing! Only Verbal directions to 2 fairly dark boxlike rooms Beds truly basic and barely 30cm above floor - unsuited to elderly or those with mobility issues (my parents) Reception only able to offer pillows no other solution Manager requested to consider refund as parent couldn’t stay in the room He went off never to return Receptionist happy to remove full cost of hotel Including dinner and breakfast from my credit card as hotel policy -manager was “at lunch” Be warned no empathy or hospitality on this visit

Dear Markseward I regret the inconvenience you describe in relation to your stay at our hotel. Regarding the rooms, we have taken into account the reduced mobility of the two elderly people, and have had spacious rooms, and on the ground floor of the hotel. A cordial greeting Beatriz Rodríguez

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days with our family, in two separate rooms. The hotel is in the middle of a golf course, so it is in a very green environment. The staff is very friendly, most of them only speak spanish, but we get by. Breakfast was good. The spa facilities were also pretty nice. But all in all, this hotel seems somewhat outdated. A spring mattres ? I cannot remember the time since I slept on a mattress in which I could actually feel or even hear the springs jump whenever I turned my back. The bed was made with old-fashioned sheets which kept sliding of the bed by morning, and this was finished with a blanket. Every Ibis hotel nowadays has a boxspring bed and modern bedding, so when a hotel calls itself a palace, I would expect more luxury. I would really advise to invest in modern beds and bedding. Also, there are several small repairs to be done around the rooms and facilities. Find a handyman and restore the glory of the hotel, it is a beautiful place, but needs modernizing.
