Charming boutique hotel with a splendid location, but that's about it. The Casa Romana with a 4* rating against the 3* from Sacristia is much better and cheaper. It is only about 150 m further down the road and just between Plaza de Duque and Alameda de Hercules. Ideal one would say. Breakfast : 12 € is not expensive, but it was really basic. The things you need were there, but the scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages were cold. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but they have to work with the means they've got. Wifi was very poor and slow.
Very well located, very clean, comfortable bed and linen...BUT!!! the room that we were given was extremely small for a couple and expensive, especially when you have a window with a high wall, less than 3 meters from it. Very low natural light - The price was high since it was low season. You could hardly move around if the other person was out of bed. Constant night low noise of an electric motor working even with our WC exhaust off The hotel does not have a spacious comfortable seating area - Only a small room with free coffee after 12 AM wit a couple of chairs
We stayed as a family of five in the apartment attached to the hotel. Firstly check in was ridiculously slow. It’s not that the staff were rude or unhelpful, but it took over 20 minutes to check in. The apartment itself was large. It was not particularly clean though with hair in the bathroom and scuffs on the walls. Fresh paint would do wonders. Our main issue was with power and water. We kept loosing power due to a fuse issue and also hot water. We had a load of washing on (travelling for a month) when the fuse first went. We asked if our washing could be spun in a machine elsewhere as it was soaking wet. We were told no and offered no assistance. We had to wring our washing in towels. When the hot water continually went we asked if we could shower in another room (annoying for us to lug toiletries etc but we needed to shower). Again, no. That is poor form. We had workmen turn to try and remedy the electrical issue. Not ideal. As for breakfast, it’s limited. Also, on our second day, we arrived at breakfast at 8.30am and there were no eggs left. I asked for some eggs to be made. I was told no. Despite there being 5 of us wanting eggs, it obviously wasn’t worth the effort. By 9.15 the dining room was full. It was obviously deemed worthy of the chefs time to then scramble some eggs, which were put out at 9.30am. Scrappy service I am a generous reviewer but can not recommend this hotel, in particular the apartment. …
Excellent Value and Location. Very helpful staff. we had a problem with a broken sink tap on our first night that couldn't be repaired. We were moved to "The Apartment", room spread over 3 floors with its own entrance from the street. Nothing was to much trouble for the hotel to look after us
Great hotel in the heart of the Bohemian area. Walking distance to pretty much everywhere. Clean hotel and friendly staff, Natalie was really helpful. There is no bar, but all the amenities are on the doorstep. Surprisingly quiet considering the vibrant area. Loved it.
