The Hotel Casa Capitel is an ancient Renaissance palace built in 1503 and located in the picturesque area of the Albaicin, in front of the Alhambra in Granada and in the city center, close to the cathedral. It is a palace with lintels and Tuscan columns, Corinth capitals, Arabic chromium-plated beams; Renaissance decorated wooden ceiling and two Roman columns.Among all the artistic whole stands out an exquisite Nazari Capitel carved in alabaster, what makes it a piece unique in the world.Wooden beams original from the XVIth century are leaned on the artistic whole. These beams support the first and second floor of the building.

If you have a taste for history and don't mind being in the center of the tourist zone, you will love this place. Originally built as a Renaissance mansion, it is dripping with history. It has lots of great public spaces--both courtyards and indoor living room-type areas. And it is off the main street, so noise is generally not an issue. But the location is really the center of the tourism zone, so you need to work to find a restaurant geared toward locals. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 4 nights in November arriving by bus following a four night stay in Nerja. We took an onward taxi to the hotel, being dropped off close by with a short walk over the cobbles. The hotel is located in Albaicin, a historic part of Granada and is nestled down an alley way behind a huge door. A lot of old world charm in this old palace, which appealed to us greatly. What a warm welcome by the hotel! A proper 'check in', orientation with a map, key details, walking and shopping hints and Tapas tips which were spot on! The team could not be more helpful and helped us sort tickets to the Alhambra. Always helpful, smiling and friendly, all staff we encountered actually! The hotel was rustic and charming as expected, we loved the open courtyard area downstairs, so peaceful and relaxing. The room was small and functional, it was as expected with a good sized wardrobe for our belongings. The location was excellent, we found it quite walk-able with lots of nearby attractions and wonderful tapas bars. We absolutely loved our stay in wonderful Granada and the history, so interesting. We would return in a heart beat!

The hotel is a traditional nazarí house, and the stay felt like living daily moments in the middle ages! It is so clean, and the staff is so nice and friendly! Plus it is in the historical albaicín, and right next to the bañuelo et la casa de zafra, and also next to plaza nueva where most tourism transport is located.

The hotel is in a good location. The decoration is sparse and not with any detail. You need to reserve a time for breakfast but there aren't any spaces available. The breakfast room is small an very crowded.

Dear guest, First of all, we would like to thank you for taking your time reviewing our Hotel after your recent stay. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the location in the center of the city. We regret that the second day you didn´t want to wait 5 minutes for breakfast but as you could see on the first day, you were able to have breakfast during one hour without rushing and with all the security measures and distances required to prevent Covid 19. We apologize again for this. Being a XVI Century building, the original construction is conserved and the furniture is maintained. Original wood ceilings from 1503, Tuscan columns, Corinth capitals, Arabic chromium-plated beams, Roman columns...Alcazaba views from one of your rooms... we are really sorry that you didn´t appreciate these details. It will be a pleasure for us to welcome you in our Hotel in your next visit to Granada to check that nothing of the mentioned anomaly happens and also you´ll enjoy from our superior rooms. Best regards,

Love this hotel. It's not a big hotel but it has the charm and it fits the character for a hotel in a romantic and charming place like Albaicin in Granada. The room is so cozy and it's quiet considering its location which is close to Alhambra. The staff were friendly and that's one of the things that matters to me. I really can't find any major flaw from this place. I would recommend this place and I would definitely stay here again if I had a chance to go back to Granada.
