I always prefer a boutique hotel if I can find one that checks most boxes. This place was a real gem. If you really want to feel "sense of place" while you are traveling in Spain, this is a perfect place to stay to feel the history and enjoy some nice perks. Each room is a little different and they have some nice amenities with modern bathrooms, comfortable beds and linens. A nice perk is free water from the mini bar and the lobby, as well as afternoon tea or coffee with snacks. Staff is very attentive and multilingual. The location is very convenient; just steps to the Plaza Nueva and just a few minutes walking to all of the sites you will want to visit. You can catch a shuttle to the Alhambra close by and there are walking tours offered everywhere. Things to note: Wifi was spotty. If you want a room with a window or balcony that faces the outside/street with a view, be sure to check before booking. Neither of my rooms did, but it was not a high priority for me. It was quiet and I slept very well. I found Casa 1800 to be a real bargain for the service, location and overall experience.…
Hotel in the old part of Granada - right below the Alhambra. Can walk or take a short taxi ride to it from one block from hotel. Hotel will give you parking instructions if driving. Parking at a main underground lot then about 400 meters walk to the hotel. Hotel is in an area that no cars can reach so some walking required (short distance 1 block if taxi). Rooms are beautiful and in an old character building. Breakfast is good and you have a complimentary afternoon tea/coffee and pastries. Wonderful staff. Great recommendations for food and further travels. If you stay at one Hotel casa 1800 you can get a discount at another one in Seville or Ronda. Spa tubs in the suites to relax after walking around. Beautiful area to walk right outside the hotel.
What a gem of a place with ac for those hot afternoons. The room was impeccable and the staff were friendly, helpful. The breakfast was spot on, and they provide a version of an early hour/dinner with sandwiches, juice, coffee. That same area is open most times for you to come in to make tea/coffee or grab a bottle of water for the room. The room has a safe and the hotel is walking distance to most of the sites. We would recommend this hotel .
The chic hotel is in a great location and has real charm and attention to detail. Our suite was superbly appointed and the welcoming staff even provided an electric kettle so that we could make tea rather than using the Nexpresso machine. Breakfast is served in the courtyard or inside and is a bit on the light side with very little cooked food and no choice of eggs - only scrambled. The only downside of our stay was that the hot drinks machine regularly ran out of water, as did supplies of bread, rolls, butter, croissants etc; unfortunately the unsupervised staff often only ventured into the room about every 10 minutes and never seemed to notice that any of the few items on offer needed to be replenished. They usually had to be asked. Complimentary afternoon tea was good and very welcome. The hotel has no restaurant but there are plenty nearby.…
The hotel is nestled in an alleyway filled with history and secrets. The hotel itself is very welcoming and beautiful. It is well kept and maintained. Each room offers its own unique experience. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
