The hotel was good, well located slightly out of the city centre. The staff was fantastic and always very attentive. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had an issue with the shower that didn't get resolved but very minor (water woukd go cold when showering for a couple of seconds), also the toom wasn't very sound proof and we could hear guests from other rooms at night.
This hotel has a strange layout which made it difficult to find the way to our room as well as the breakfast buffet. The buffet offerings were average. They charged for ice even though I stopped at the bar to pick up the ice and take it to our room. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet and comfortable.
Very good hotel with professional and friendly staff. Great room with excellent beds. As a member of catalonia hotels you feel like a royal on route. All highlights on walking distance, after a tiring walking day the pool and rooftop terrace are great
WARNING to all potential guests. BEWARE of the tactics of this hotel (and possibly their entire chain). Try to have a backup booking elsewhere in case they try to pull something like this on you. I booked over 30days ahead of time to receive a discounted rate. As I always do, immediately after booking, I emailed the hotel and they confirmed my reservation. About a week prior to check-in, I received an email from the hotel telling me my reservation was cancelled because my credit card info was invalid. This was strange as I entered my credit card information during booking and the system validated the credit card at that time. This is also my primary card and I have been actively using it daily. I also used it to book several other things in Spain with no issue. I also checked with my credit card company and they said there have been no failed attempts on my credit card and no blocks. I happened to be at my computer at the time of receiving the email and checked their website to see if I could just rebook and it was showing full. This was strange as if my reservation was cancelled, a room should have opened up. Perhaps they were still holding my room until I resolve this issue? I contacted the hotel asking them to re-instate my reservation and provide instructions on how I can resolve the situation and provide my credit card information again. Through several email exchanges, they kept repeating that my credit card information was invalid so my room is cancelled making zero effort to resolve the situation. Even if my credit card information was invalid, it would make sense for them to contact me to try to resolve the situation PRIOR to cancelling the reservation. They did not even want to discuss the possiblity of resolving the situation. Finally several days later, they said their hotel is full and offered a hotel 70km outside the city, nearly an hour away for around the same rate. This was a bit of an insult and totally unacceptable. Their cancellation so close to check-in date left with few options as most hotels were either full or extremly expensive. I was able to book another hotel in a less desirable location and an smaller lower quality room for nearly 150EUR more. My only other option would have been to rearrange or cancel my entire trip which would have mean I would have lost more. I've stayed at over 50 different hotels all over the world over the past 20yrs or so. I've had this type of situation come up maybe twice. In those situations, the hotel contacted me that they were having issues with my credit card info BEFORE canceling my reservation since they value my reservation. Each time, I was able to provide them the information again and the issue was resolved. This is the first time, I've ever had a hotel just cancel a reservation last minute. Even if their system really did have a problem processing my credit card (AGAIN after processing it during booking), it would only be logical for the hotel to contact me PRIOR to cancelling the reservation in order to remedy the situation and preserve the reservation). It makes no sense for a hotel to want to cancel a reservation without even contacting the guest FIRST to try to figure out the issue. I highly suspect that the hotel was either over-booked and/or they were trying to remove my reservation to sell a higher priced less discounted reservation. That is the only way I can explain their behavior. If they don't wan't to offer discounts, then don't offer lower rates. Regardless of their motives or my theories, they stated that their system checks the credit card information on all reservations 7 days prior and automatically cancels them if it is invalid. Based on their own statements, you always have a risk of your reservation getting cancelled since you don't know if their system will make an error (like in my case) and cancel the reservation with no prior notice. I have some friends (10 people) planning to visit Granada next month. After letting them know of what happened, they all cancelled their reservations and booked elsewhere.…
Lovely boutique 153 room hotel located in the historical center in the city. We found the staff not very pleasant throughout the hotel; reception, restaurant, etc. Room was minimalistic and a bit small but doable and the bathroom was small. We actually got upgraded and the room was a bit larger with a much nicer bathroom with tub. The common areas were very nice in a very minimalist way. There is a very small pool on the top floor with a small bar. Nice place to have a drink before or after dinner. The cathedral is about A 15 minute walk from the property.
