We spent 10 days at Amaragua hotel in November. It was great! The situation of the hotel is superb right on the beach and the pedestrian walk, no cars. The personnel is very friendly and the food is good with a large buffet with a good variety. We had half pension. The fish was sometimes overcooked. The meat and the vegetables were great. A vast variety of salads and deserts. Options for glutenfree eating and sugarfree eating. The hotel has a spa and a small gym; indoor and outdoor pool, with possibility for massages, reflexology, manicure etc. We will be back!

Brilliant stay for a reasonable prize in this very well looked after hotel that offers all over old fashioned good service. Spacious (very Spanish) room, pleasant balcony (every side balcony gives a good sea view) very clean and speedy turnover of bed and bathroom linnen. Well organised breakfast buffet. Perfect location on the promenade and easy beach access. Every evening there is a form of entertainment and the lobby is inviting to mingle. We were soooooo happy to have chosen Amaragua. Our only comment is: you discourage the booking of sunbeds on paper only. There is no follow up. During our 6 day stay pool sunbeds were covered with hotel pool towels nobody around. The temptation to take them away and pile them up was huge!!

Very happy about the stay, good located (right next to plenty of restaurants and shopping) beautiful view, and the best breakfeast buffet i’ve ever had. The service was good. Over all very happy. The only thing was the wifi wasnt the best, and we paid for ocean view, but it you could only see a little of the ocean, and more of the other hotels. The city was a bit boring too, but if you just want to swin, eat and relax its perfect.

Stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time. The location is on the promenade next to the beach in the Carehuela area. There are lots of beach bars, bars and restaurants near by. The staff in general are very pleasant and helpful and the whole hotel is kept spotless. The hotel has lots of old Spanish features. Would recommend.

A pleasant surprise with nice building outside and inside the lobby. The room however was very old. Not clean. And the worst beds, hard like stone. The breakfast was good, a lot to choose from. Not suitable for a short stay since it’s not central at all. The subway is fine to go to Malaga, but a longer distance to walk to the stop. Would not go back or recommend this place.

Lovely hotel and 3rd visit now, staff friendly and very attentive nothing is too much trouble. The only thing I can critique is on our last night there were a large group of Dutch males staying at the hotel who were very, very drunk, to the extent that one of them fell over and another could hardly walk. I would say maybe not let large groups male or female stay at the hotel. Other than that we enjoyed 2 weeks of gorgeous weather and throughly enjoyed the hotel Amaragua. Would definitely go again.👍🏼

This was our first time staying at this hotel. On arriving we found the staff very pleasant and friendly to deal with. The Hotel itself is beautiful decorated and 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. We stayed on B+B deal. The breakfast was very nice with just the right amount of choice. Entertainment in the evening was pleasant and enjoyable. Overall we had a lovely stay. We would recommend the MS Amaragua highly.

Great location, lovely area by the pool to sit and enjoy a drink.Rooms ok but a little dated. All staff pleasant and helpful. Would come back if it wasn’t for the food. Evening meal very poor .Cold, unappetising, definitely not 4*,salads ok,sweets more or less the same every night, mousse, ice cream and rice pudding. The hotel next door ,.Tropicana, used all facilities and had their evening meal in the MS Amaragua, that was 3 star and about £500 cheaper. If I came again it would be breakfast only or save quite a lot of money by booking the Tropicana.

The main reason for the poor evaluation has been the attention they have given us before and after our wedding. We think that the people who plan a wedding cannot be so unpleasant and incorrect in the treatment of their clients. These are the reasons for this evaluation: - The menu testing day, they did not want us to try several menus. They thought we wanted to eat two whole menus, which is ridiculous. - During the preparation of the wedding, they told us what we wanted to hear, but then they did not apply the price that we had agreed on and they referred to the menu. They have done very little to satisfy our wishes. They wanted to apply price increases due to inflation. - They did not help us to hire any service such as DJ, animation, chocolate table etc. - Quite a few times we have tried to contact them and they did not respond for several days. One of the times, we set a meeting with them at the hotel and they didn't show up, we had to come back later. - Several guests wanted to stay at the hotel, which was not an easy task as the discount only applied to guests staying more than 4 nights. In low season and with a half empty hotel it seems like an abuse. - Just on the day of the wedding they told us that petals cannot be thrown, which honestly seems ridiculous to us. - The music of the Tropicana that is part of their hotel was playing during the celebration, which was quite annoying. - Many guests left the meat due to its poor quality. - After the wedding they had an error in the invoice, in which they indicate that we had paid less, which is not true since the menus that were served were paid for. They have threatened us with legal action for a mistake that they made and that does not represent even 1% of what we paid. On top of that, they have insulted us by calling us miseries after paying a fortune in an event that we could have done in any other place and it would have gone just as well. The treatment with the hotel has been really disappointing and has made the experience much worse. Let's hope this doesn't happen to future couples.
