This hotel has not been renovated in decades, it's staff does not care about customers, and it's Wifi internet service does not work. I have visited this area for many years and knew this hotel had not been maintained for years. Nevertheless, I decided to book a room because it was the cheapest in the area and I just needed a quiet place to telework during the afternoons for 5 days while visiting family members. After checking in and entering my room, I realized the the hotel wifi was not working (none of my devices - laptop or phone had connectivity). I complained at the front desk, and they said they would send a technician to my room. After an hour nobody arrived. I went to the reception again, and they said it was fixed remotely (it wasn't). Then the staff at the front desk had changed so I had to re-explain everything again. Four hours after checking in, nothing was fixed, nobody came to my room, and nobody called to inquire. By then I figured out that the only place where wifi worked properly was near the front desk, but large parts of the hotel had broken wifi connectivity. I asked for a change in room. The person at the front desk said they couldn't help me change rooms that day; but that I should try again at the front desk the following day. At that point I realized that they simply didn't care. I found a nearby hotel for $20 a night more that was much nicer, nicely renovated, had great service, and the wifi worked. Even though I didn't even stay a single night at the hotel, the hotel kept all the 5 nights payment they had charged in advance. They told me to talk to the travel agency for reimbursement. When the travel agency called them, the hotel refused to refund any money. Please avoid this hotel. They are only interested in getting whatever money they can get before they tear the place down.

Stayed here for 5 nights and am satisfied, it's not ultra modern but place has character. Nice breakfast, is close to sea and right on the prominade. Take it as you find it. The hotel next door is good for all the extras. You'll enjoy it I feel 8f travelling solo.

Have spent thousands of pounds with Jet2 over the years and never been disappointed…UNTIL NOW Room was grungy and very dated. Dark and dismal. Bathroom had black mould grouting around shower walls. Black mould around sink. A Hotel with NO BAR open! Childrens parties held where the bar should have been (really screaming kids at 10.30pm. The pokey balcony with no room on it The next rooms balcony stares straight onto your bed! Jet2 lack of response was a real kick in the nuts. Book this place at your peril!

Perfect location, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Our stay was room only and I cannot fault the hotel. Fabulous view from balcony, quiet, efficient aircon. Perfect for a short break. Hotel is located right on the paseo, a few metres walk from all bars, restaurants and shops.

We arrived early for check in and was told our room would be ready in an hour, we happily went off after leaving our cases in the luggage room to return almost 2 hours later for the room still not ready. We were given a different room (106). I had asked previously for a low floor as I have a fear of heights and am disabled and 106 was the ground floor. We opened the curtains in the room thinking it would show a patio door out onto a balcony but it was just a window which looked over the breakfast room roof. No outside space or view of any kind. We returned to reception as we were not happy with it and we were then given room 112. Off we went again up in the lift this time to room 112. The room looked ok, it had a very tiny balcony and a very small bathroom but we were happy as we had an outside area with a nice view of the pool even the balcony was tiny. 5 minutes after getting into the room the phone went for us to be told our £789 that we had paid for the hotel was for a budget room and we could only stay in the room with the balcony if we paid another 30€’s a day. There was no way we were willing to pay another 210€’s on top of the £789 we had already paid for a room with a balcony that was so small. Off we went yet again back to reception. This time we were given room 104 and had both completely given up with tiredness. Room 104 had an outside terrace but it had no view at all, just a terracotta brick wall, no sunshine at all throughout any part of the day except for going up one side of the wall first thing in the morning. I had lost the will to go back to reception so we settled thinking this is the best it’s going to get but we were extremely unhappy. As we sat out on our cold dark terrace we were being covered with cigarette ash. Somebody on a higher floor was constantly smoking and using our terrace as an ashtray. We did inform reception on the second day of it happening. The big wooden headboard on the bed had a bit split all the way across it, I grazed my elbow on it a few times. The Tropicana shares its facilities with its sister hotel next door. Breakfast is in The Tropicana and dinner is nextdoor. Breakfast is really quite good, lots of choice but sadly let down by it being cold everyday. Dinner is completely another story, the food is awful, my husband will normally eat anything and even he struggled. One night I had turkey carved for me, I started eating it to realise it was raw and only partly cooked. I spent the next day with a dodgy tummy. The evening meal seemed to be catered for The Dutch. We attempted to eat in the hotel most evenings but ended up eating out most nights. Now the Dutch. Large groups of men blocking the entrance to the swimming pool so you can’t get in it. Not just blocking the entrance but all down the sloping steps into the pool drinking cans of beer and glasses of spirits. We gave up trying to use the pool. They spent their days shouting and generally being rowdy. Not once were they told to stop drinking alcohol in the pool or to stop blocking people getting in or out of the water. On one of the days when we were sat at the pool area bar a ball knocked our drinks over that one of them had thrown. There was no respect for other holiday makers. The hotel have a lot of private functions going on, the organisers block you from walking between the two hotels to get to and from dinner, really not exceptable to make a disabled person walk all the way round the front and sides of the hotels and walk up a set of steps (as the little lift outside The Tropicana was broken) to get to their room that is there right in front of them. We have been completely put off ever returning to a hotel again and in future will rent a private apartment.

We arrived here yesterday with our 2 daughters, our rooms are lovely, with a great view of the sea. Please, please DO NOT believe the negative reviews. I was.really worried before we arrived because of all the negativity. The breakfast is lovely with lots of choice. The evening meal is served in the sister hotel which is equally stunning.the food choice is wonderful and plentiful. The staff are all lovely and helpful.we had a problem with our safety deposit box that was shorter out for us straight away. There is a lovely team on reception that recognise everyone. I can't stress enough how fabulous it is. I will be staying here in the future many many times.

We were optimistic coming to this hotel after reading the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has an excellent location right next to the cafes, restaurants and beach. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine didn't eat cooked stuff but plenty of choice for fruit, yogurts, pastries and toast. Entertainment and bigger pool next door if you wish. We got a sunbed no bother everyday. The pool was very clean. Would definitely return. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but if your looking for quiet, clean and value for money then definitely a good choice.

We stayed at this Hotel in 2019 and was reasonably priced so decided to return. Unfortunately it felt like they are running the hotel into the ground. They’ve now shut the mango restaurant on the promenade, hotel bar & only serve breakfast in there now. So we went half board and had to go to the sister hotel Amaragua next door and to be frank the meals weren’t good!. They were bland, lack of variation and if you eat the chicken cooked fresh in front of you be careful as mine was raw in the middle. Thank god I spotted it! Also they don’t provide a drink, not even water. The pool area is lovely but has limited space for beds so people put their towels down as early as 7.00 and then bugger off for the day but you can sort of understand it as locals come in through the ungated entrance for a swim all afternoon!! 🤬 They do clean the pool daily but the skimmers don’t work properly so you get debris on the surface quite a bit. You are able to use the pool next door which is a plus. If you want WiFi don’t come here as it’s non existent! Asked at reception multiple times and all they said was “we’ll reboot it” which done absolutely nothing. On a major plus side and why I didn’t score it lower was the staff were lovely, very helpful and a fantastic location but sadly won’t be returning.

Overall a fairly basic hotel. The room we had was very dated but clean, however my biggest issue was the poor aircon which meant I barely slept as the room was far too hot. Also the fridge in the room was tiny and there was no tea or coffee in the room either. Although the pool is small it was quite nice. The pool next door is a bit bigger, although much busier so getting a sun bed was difficult. All the staff were really friendly and the location is perfect.

If you like standing in line for breakfast, not being able to smoke on the terrace while having a cup of coffee during breakfast, not having a socket next to the bed for mobile phone, not having wifi in the hotel, getting up early in the morning to take a sunbed, not having isolation in the room, not being able to extend the late check -out if your plane leaves at 16:00, not being able to enter the pool, because all children under 2 year old sit on the steps of the pool - then welcome to this hotel!
