I stayed here with my mum for a few nights in the summer. The staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was good. We didn’t use the pool at the hotel but rather used the sister hotel’s pool and bar area which was bigger and got the sun for longer. Great location right off the beach. Our balcony had a lovely view of the sister hotel pool and promenade. The decor could do with a bit of an update but it gave the hotel character!
We stayed bed and breakfast for 4 days at the end of October. We found the hotel to be everything we could have wanted. Our room and bathroom was very spacious and had a lovely side sea view. It was spotless and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and had everything we could have wanted. The location of this hotel is fabulous - right next to the fantastic beach. Its on a long promenade full of nice bars, cafes and shops. You can walk one way to the beautiful lit up harbour of Benalmadena or the other way to Torremolinos. To top it we had fantastic weather, we hope to return for another stay.
Visit Costa Del Sol on an annual basis and just returned from a ten night stay at the Tropicana. Reading the reviews before we went I wasn't expecting too much but my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. It is an old hotel so rooms aren't huge and the bath was a bit small for me but I prefer a shower and that was nice and hot. It was lovely sat on the balcony overlooking the pool and sea. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the beds very comfortable. Seen previous mention of thin walls but never heard a thing! That is until one night towards the end of our stay when we were woken by a couple in the room next door at 3am, shall we say they seemed to be enjoying themselves! We loved the quaint dining room and buffet breakfast, lots of choice and not too crowded, with outside space as well. We only stayed B&B but tried the evening meal one night and really loved the variety on offer and enjoyed a lovely meal. The room was cleaned daily. There were plenty of free sunbeds around the pool and it was peaceful there. Of course you are opposite the beach and a short walk from all the restaurants and bars on Carihuela Beach. Turn the other way and in fifteen minutes you can get to Benalmadena Marina. My wife spent a lot of time in the seating area of the sister hotel next door MS Amaragua and we used the bar there. I had a bit of a problem with my hip towards the end of my stay and staff were helpful when we tried to negotiate the little outside lift as there are a good many steps up to hotel entrance. We will definitely return in the future.…
Not long come back from staying at the MS Tropicana for the third time, as every other time we upgraded the room to front sea view. The room is spacious and balcony large. Stayed 22nd September to 6th October 2019, weather was a lot hotter than normal for that time of year. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, they are there is you have any issues – which we did not have any at all. We stayed Half Board for the first time normally just went B&B but decided to have a change, the food as always was very nice with a lot of choice. Maid service was first rate and everything was always cleaned and gleaming. There is not much more to say everything like always was great and enjoyed my holiday.
Just back from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Tropicana. We had room 518 which gave us great views over the pool and beach. The hotel is in a great location for walks along the beach and visiting the numerous bars and restaurants. The room was also kept clean and towels changed on a daily basis. We stayed B&B only, so I can't comment on the dinners. The breakfast is the usual hotel buffet, nothing spectacular, but decent enough. If you're looking for a nice clean hotel in a great location, give it a try.
