Spanish Logic Where to start! Transfer and check in good, however they don’t tell you about the safe which you need to pay to hire, it would be helpful if they told you at the point of check in. Room adequate, spacious, worn, tired, only one plug socket, definitely need to bring an extension lead! Not sure how you’re expected to cope with one socket! Towels and bedding only get changed if you request. Bath but no plug. Dusty light shades. Dirty fridge. This was cleaned on request. Comfy beds. Food adequate, reasonable choice. Lots of fresh foods, fruit, salad. Freshly cooked meats and fish. I’d be cautious if vegan/vegetarian or any severe allergies. Main dining room is chaos, ridiculous! Not enough space, dangerous and congested. Not easy for disabled/less able people or children to navigate. High risk Incidents and accidents. Not enough cutlery. Table not set for starter, main, dessert, expect ed to use the same cutlery for all. Staff touch the part you eat with when setting. Takes ages to get served with drinks. Otherwise no table service, just cattle market experience. Enjoyed the outside terrace. Beautiful views. Sun beds, loads with towels on to reserve, but no sign of anyone in the pool. They must disappear into a sun-bed vortex! Pool person (they are not lifeguards) they are Sunbeds/towel monitors! Spanish logic, where you pay €40 deposit to hire two towels, but when you want to change them, they won’t exchange for your €40 deposit, they want a further €1. Instead of just exchanging, but if you take to reception and get your money back, go find the same pool person, you can again reserve two towels for €40! No logic! Drinks, bring teabags/coffee with you!No brewing facilities in the room. Fridge for cold drinks Some more Spanish logic! You can’t order a Black Russian because they don’t make that, but you can order a vodka, a coke and a Tia Maria and make your own - it’s still a Black Russian! Tried to explain but waiter had apparently got in trouble for mixing it himself! Absolutely No logic! Entertainment, all finished by 10.30, outside bar closed by 11.30idh. Paper cups after a certain time. I appreciate this through the day near the pool but not in the evenings. Toilets, stupid timer lights where if you’re not quick enough you end up in the dark. You have to have a rave for one to get it to come back on! Location, lovely beach, nice views. Quite a walk to get anywhere. Not much nightlife. Took two hours (4 in total) and 18,000 steps to walk to the harbour and back! Nice but exhausting. Staff are friendly and helpful. Be careful of instructions for left/right, can easily be sent in the wrong direction and a walk to No mans land! Room is cleaned regularly. Restaurant needs some attention. Floors are broken throughout the hotel. Wouldn’t say don’t stay here, it’s not terrible, but I don’t know how it is 4* other than it being such a huge scale and maybe food choices.. Its frustrating at best.

Hotel's Favourite
Our first family holiday and we were not disappointed. Location is fab right beside the beach and close to the market square. Yes the check in at the hotel was a little slow but the reception staff were lovely and couldn’t be of more help. Big shout out to Jamie who helped resolved a room issue very quickly! The hotel was very clean, credit to housekeeping and all the public areas. Shame some of the guests couldn’t be more thoughtful and put their rubbish in the bin 🙄 Restaurant food was fresh and plentiful. Many different choices to choose from daily. The staff again were courteous and efficient with drink service and clearing down Kids club- what can I say these guys are fab! They really get involved with each of the children and have so much energy! Different activities were put on daily but it’s the staff the make it! 3 pools to choose from and a kids area which is brilliant. Only downside it people putting towels on loungers all day and not using them, very inconsiderate. Entertainment at night was fine depends on what you are looking for, most nights after the mini disco we went to bed. All in all we had a wonderful family holiday in this hotel! We would definitely consider coming back again.

As the title suggests life guards can't swim. People put sun loungers in walk ways as no rules applied. And no rules on towels been left all day on a unused bed. Only other complaint wud be the toasters at breakfast not fit for purpose and you'd be better leaving bread on a sun lounger to toast. As for everything else it is a lovely clean hotel. The food is excellent the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Just spent a week at Sol Principe (6 adults plus 1 four year old) all inclusive and we all loved it ! Check in was slow but the staff were friendly and gave us 3 rooms all together on floor 9 yes the lifts are small but there are 3 of them so just be patient. Rooms were Sol rooms and were ok clean (cleaned every day by friendly cleaners)with shower gel and shampoo included but be sure to take a four way short extension lead as there’s only one plug point in the room. Breakfast was good with always something available for everyone fruit yoghurt cereal full English breakfast and omelettes cooked to order (be patient) We used the snack bar (burgers chicken nuggets hotdogs fries plus loads more) and the restaurant (salad meats fish fries etc) on different days for lunch which good Some Evenings we ate in the restaurant and others we ate out as it does get a bit repetitive but that’s expected Kids disco was good fun for the four year old and the evening entertainment was a laugh (get there early to get a seat) Pool Bar Main Bar were brilliant and all of the staff work tirelessly (again please be patient as they are all lovely people) We were here from 17th September and we didn’t encounter any sun bed drama but people did queue from 8:30 (not massive queues) the hotel chain up the sun beds overnight and also lock the gates to the pools and open promptly at 9am All in all a great hotel that should be proud of all of the staff

Just back from a brilliant week here in Torremolinos. Hotel was fantastic, food was first class, staff were the best and service reflected their excellent attitude. 2 minutes from the beach and a great flat promenade for miles in both directions, full of brilliant bars and restaurants although we went fully inclusive which was superb value. Already looking to return.

I had seen mixed reviews so was not sure what our experience would be. We were on a family holiday, with 6 adults and a toddler and overall, we were very happy with the hotel and we had an enjoyable stay. The location was good, right next to the beach, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk to the centre of Torremolinos but taxis are not expensive if you don’t fancy the walk. Our check in on arrival was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. We did go in September so the negative reviews about long queues at check in may well be justified but it wasn’t a problem for us. I have seen poor reviews about the food but I have to say that overall, I found it very good. There was a lot of variety and the quality during my stay was very good. On occasions, some of the food I had was not as hot as it could have been but I accept that in a large buffet restaurant, it is virtually impossible to keep everything piping hot all of the time. However, unless it was stone cold all the time, (which it wasn’t), I would not consider this something to complain about. We had no problem with queues for the restaurant or lack of seating, but I can imagine that high season would be very busy at certain times. I would agree with the reviews about the lifts being small. For a hotel this size, they are very small and I can imagine this being a real problem in peak season. This didn’t really impact us too much but there were a couple of occasions when a lot of people were waiting, so we took the stairs. Being on the 8th floor, this wasn’t ideal. One minor observation was that the bedside lights in my room were very low, and over the bed itself, so on numerous occasions when sitting up, I knocked the light. I did get used to it but I noted on arrival that the light fitting was loose on the wall, probably not helped by the number of times guests may have knocked into it. I don’t consider this as a major issue but if guests keep knocking the fitting, it may eventually fall off and that could be a safety hazard. On balance, my negative observations are minor and overall, I felt that the hotel was very clean, comfortable, well run and the staff were friendly, polite and very hard working. The entertainment staff were great and our small granddaughter very much enjoyed the mini disco in the evening. We all enjoyed our stay and I would consider returning if I returned to Torremolinos in the future. One final note, after checking out and waiting for our airport transfer, I later realised I had left one of my rings in the safe in my room. I spoke with a lady on reception, who informed me that new guests were now in the room, but she made some calls and after a few minutes, she returned with my ring. It wasn’t valuable but has priceless sentimental value, so I couldn’t thank her enough. I don’t remember her name unfortunately but if she sees this review, I thank her for her efforts on my behalf.

Stayed there for the last week in August, we'd been there before pre covid. Check in is still a disaster, the rooms are exactly as they were 3 years ago, bit out dated. The area around the pool was terrible, time to get rid of the grass area around it. Also needs a smoking area definitely away from the back door.Always liked the location, beach just across the road and a lovely walk into the centre. Not complaining just giving my opinion on things I saw, and I'll definitely be back.

Considering the hotel has 4 stars, a rating of 4 will be equivalent to what was expected. A rating of 5 is above expectations, and anything lower is clear. Front desk staff and housekeeping / 5 Everyone is exceptionally kind and warm, and all of them are Spaniards, which is commendable. Rooms / 3 We used the Extra Sol Junior Suite and were generally quite satisfied. The complaint is about the extremely poor mattress on the extra bed, which squeaks with every move. However, all in all, it's overpriced for the additional charge for this type of room. Pools / 3 It would be good if the sun loungers were better maintained; almost all of them are dirty. The pool water is clean and well-maintained; however, the grout and the pool floor are quite worn and neglected and should be fixed for a better impression. There is a lot of greenery around the pool, which provides a beautiful overall context. A big complaint is the daily unbearable smell near the pool bar, obviously from the garbage. Also, it is necessary to place trash cans with lids everywhere around the pool because it smells very, very bad if you are nearby. Food / 2 Food is the biggest problem. The selection is small, dishes are often repeated, and many dishes are under-seasoned, poorly prepared, or undercooked (chicken). In the last two days, i.e., the 7th and 8th day of our stay, we had severe stomach problems, and we exclusively ate hotel food, so the cause can be assumed. Additional recreational facilities / 1 If you want to rent golf clubs for mini-golf or table tennis rackets, you have to do it at the reception where you check in. In summary, every day I waited an average of 20 minutes to rent equipment and the same to return it because you have to wait for guests to check in or check out. This is completely absurd! Internet and TV / 2 In today's age, having less than 5 Mbps in the room is unacceptable. TV channels also have interference, and many of them are unwatchable for that reason. Parking / 2 The problem with issuing the exit parking card is terribly irritating. Considering the room type, I had free parking included, and I received a card that allows me to exit the complex for 7 days. However, every time I reached the barrier that didn't lift, I had to go back, also returning cars behind me, because the machine didn't accept the card. Guess where you need to resolve this - at the reception... So, again, waiting for people in front to check in or out, and only then a new card that allows me to exit, and the same story every day. Other Renovation works such as replacing ceramics or painting walls are tasks for when the hotel is not so crowded. It's simply unprofessional. OVERALL RATING: 2 out of 5
